Masseurluke's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Mar 18, 14:05
- I think that some people are born with the gift of physical touch, and that many are able to tune into this to determine what someone needs. However, I think it is those people who must take a humble approach and realize that there is much to learn in this field that is very difficult to learn on your own. Anatomy, physiology, energy work, and ethics are all important parts of being a masseur, and they are things that are best learned in a professional setting.
- My first client was somebody who was wired for stress. They came into the room a bundle of nerves, all worked up from their personal and professional lives. The second I laid my hands on them, their nervous system jolted and they had an incredibly tough time relaxing into the session. Once I realized this, I realized why I was there. I wasn't there to work my job and go home and go on with my life. I was there to provide this person with a glimpse into the relaxed and healing state they deserved to be in. I was there to give them a break from the world, and a break from how hard life can truly be sometimes. They ended up bursting into tears halfway through the session, claiming that they had never felt something so peaceful and wonderful in their life. It was a great introduction into the career I was meant for.
- Follow your heart. If giving people the gift of empathetic physical touch is something you're naturally good at, you were meant for this profession. Go to a school, get professionally trained, obtain your license, and dive into a beautiful word of providing a truly special gift to people who need it. It'll change your life, I promise.
- It seems that most masseurs on this site are either not professionally trained, or are here merely to offer erotic services outside of therapeutic massage. I do believe that those services are beautiful in their own right, and help the body achieve a state of relaxation that is impossible to arrive at otherwise. However, I am a masseur who works mainly in the therapeutic realm. I approach every person as a new anatomical puzzle to solve, mapping the patterns of tightness within the body to determine the exact places that need release. Sometimes that release can lie within sensitive parts of the body, and that is when I consider it necessary to deserve attention. The fact that I am professionally trained, and work hard everyday to improve my craft, sets me far apart from most others on the platform.
- My love language is physical touch, and one day I woke up and realized that I wanted to share that gift with the world instead of just with my lovers and friends. So, I went to a massage school and became well versed in areas of anatomy, physiology, energy work, and professionalism. Since my first day working as a masseur I haven't looked back. Every single session puts a smile on my face. To be there for someone in the capacity that I am able to provide makes me realize that I was put on this earth to do exactly this. It's the one place that feels like home, and I wouldn't want to be doing anything else with my life.
