MeltedTension's Massage Interview
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Of course I would miss them. I love what I do. I would go crazy if I couldn't massage anymore. It's my passion.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I absolutely do! I have a full time job but I'm able to pay my rent just from massaging on the side. I have never had a client who didn't rebook or get off the table without results
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want my clients to feel completely satisfied and not wanting to get off the table and want more time with me. My number one goal is to satisfy the client
Why did you become a Masseur?
I always knew I had good hands and with the proper training, my skills and techniques combined with my natural touch would be deadly. I enjoy helping people and seeing their reactions when they get off the table
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been massaging for 4 1/2 years. I will massage for the rest of my life. I can't imagine my life without it. I have a gift that needs to be shared with the world
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Absolutely. Having a nice touch isn't enough. You need to know your anatomy and pathologies. You need to know your muscles and bones. You need to know the origin, insertion and attachments of the muscles for a more successful session especially when doing corrective work
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I like them to feel they got their money's worth. That it was worth the drive. That they would definitely come and are already thinking of their next appointment. I love when clients text me later in the day or the next day to tell me how great they feel. Makes my job complete
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I don't travel often. I work a lot and in my spare time I massage so I like to stay busy
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I have actually trained. I went to school for this. Completed the program successfully and obtained my license and have been working in the field ever since. Each massage is catered to the client's needs however I always include hot stones, hot towels, aromatherapy, heated table, candles for soft lighting and I'm friendly. I also have early morning appointments in case you want to be massaged before you start your day. You won't be disappointed if you pick me.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I didn't start taking clients until I finished my schooling. My first client was a two hour session. Nicest guy. He was very happy and satisfied. There's so much you can accomplish in a massage. I thought I would run out of things to do but I didn't. It was awesome. I knew right then I was where I needed to be
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
That I am a kind, caring, skilled therapist who loves what he does and takes my time with each client to meet their needs
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Make sure it's want you want to do and get trained, keep up with your continuing education classes and stay up on all new trends in the field to keep your massage current
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to massage, swim, go to the movies and out to eat.
