Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first client was my mum, I gave her a massage for her soar leg and she gave me extra pocket money lol
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Yes, being a masseur is addictive. Getting to meet so many different people and to help others relieve a bit of the stress and tension in their lives and in their bodies is a gift. I won't miss my massage days because I will always do it.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes, my success is measured in customer satisfaction and I always make sure my clients leave satisfied. As a lover of massage, I know there is nothing worse than a massage that leaves you feeling like you have just wasted time and money. My customers become regulars and are always surprised by my attention to detail.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
Apart from being a massage therapist, I am also a stress and anxiety therapist. In other words, my calling in life is to heal and help people release stress and tension in their lives. The combination of mind body and soul is what you get with me.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I aim to leave all my clients, refreshed, relaxed and feeling at least 50% better than they did before we met. It is my aim to have you coming back to me the next time you think of having a massage. To do this, I aim for your satisfaction every time.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
You will notice when you come to my studio that it is full of plants. I love to take care of them and they bring more good vibes into my home. I enjoy fitness and cycling. I cycle everywhere so if you see me around some time, stop me and say hey!
I also enjoy reading, and a good dance every now and then.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I became a masseur after covid hit and I lost my 1-1 therapy clients. I decided to make use of a skill that I have been developing over the years and enjoy and share it with you.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
It's all about the client's needs, Be attentive to them and be sure to create a pleasant environment, so they can feel comfortable and relaxed. Check-in with them from time to time to ensure they are happy with pressure, temperature etc.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Being a therapist and a masseur sets me apart from others, when it comes down to a human connection and my ability to support the relaxation and healing process with just my voice and hands.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been doing massages in some capacity since I was just a little boy. I would say over 25 years now!
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel and I also love my home comforts so I cant choose lol
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
The key to a masseur being successful is attention, empathy, passion and enjoying massages themselves. Some training does help to teach proper technique and avoid injuryuries. The rest is insinct.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I like my clients to feel that they have had a great experience and made a great investment of their time and money in someone who cares about delivering a quality service.
