MethodMassage's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Aug 31, 2023
- There are three things that distinguish me from others.
First, Most guys on here do massage as their primary form of income. This probably means they see you as a source of income and not as the individual with unique needs and desires. On the other hand, massage is not my primary form of income, which allows me to treat you like the king, prince, or queen you are without seeing you as a dollar sign.
Next, most guys on here will offer you a 60 or 90 minute rubdown; nothing more and nothing less. My approach is different in that my work touches your Mind, Body and Spirit. This truly wholistic approach ensures you get the most for your dollar every time you come in!
Finally, most guys on here are not certified to perform the work they do. Sure they'll make you smile and feel good. But do you really want some dude, who isn't properly trained, messing with your body? I am certified through the CMA in Massage Therapy, Advanced Sound Therapy, Aromatherapy/Essential Oils, Chakra Balancing/Therapy, Crystal Healing, and Life/Wellness Coaching.
- My memory of the first massage I ever gave is a memory that will remain in my mind forever. I had just begun massage school, and as many of you who've trained extensively for something can appreciate, I knew juuuuust enough to do damage. Needless to say, my nerves (and stamina) got the best of me and he got, quite possibly, the worlds worst 15 minute massage.
I've come a long way since then and now have over 9,000 hours of massage experience under my belt and have pursued advanced techniques through workshops, conventions and continuing education. I'm also happy to report that my first client (read back then as: victim) is still a regular client today!
- I would consider myself a successful massage therapist.
In my 13+ years of practice, I've been fortunate enough to see many of my clients grow. From helping my elite athlete clients maintain their bodies in peak physical condition, or releasing my clients from the stresses of life, to helping my clients access their chakric energies and access levels of spirituality they never knew existed, the rewards of my clients growth are immeasurable. And for that I will be forever thankful to my dedicated clients.
- I became a massage therapist because I wanted to help others. My approach to wellness incorporates more than just massage and is designed to treat your Mind, Body and Spirit!
It is worth noting that I only do massage part-time and am typically available evenings and weekends. I have a day job, in healthcare, and find that my massage work provides a nice balance to the work I do by day. Western Medicine by day and Wholistic Healing by night ;)
- Extensive training isn’t necessary to make another person ‘feel good’. I’m aware of and have received plenty of great rubdowns from guys who are not formally trained. Ultimately, you need to ask yourself, whether you just want to ‘feel good’ or if you want more than that? If your answer is to ‘feel good’, myself and many others on here are happy to do that. That said, if you want more than just to feel good, I encourage you to work with a properly trained and certified massage therapist that truly knows how to treat your body (and can make you feel good too!).
I am certified through the CMA in Massage Therapy (Swedish, Deep Tissue, Cranial Sacral, Gua Sha, Hot Stone, Myofascial Release, and Reflexology), Advanced Sound Therapy, Aromatherapy/Essential Oils, Chakra Balancing/Therapy, Crystal Healing, and Life/Wellness Coaching.
