MikaelB's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Jul 23, 2024
- It varies depending on the client, but I'd like them to feel either ready to take on the rest of the day, ready to get a good night's rest without overthinking anything, or relieved of physical tension combined with the opportunity to spend some time together 😉
- I'm not a master yet myself but if anything, take your time - it might sound easy but every situation is a different challenge
If it didn't work out the first time try your best to get feedback, get a massage for yourself to learn from, and prepare to move on to the next challenge. When it gets easy remember it can get harder, when it gets harder, remember it can get easier. Stay humble
- Yeah, I think so. It's a technique that can be mastered (or done very well) and there's just so much to it within each specialization of physical therapy, if psychology and anatomy alone wasn't more than enough. That's just my opinion, if anything I just think it's important to understand the fundamentals to avoid hurting the client and maybe picking up a trick or ten to avoid burning yourself out during the massage. Studying and practice can build a master
- Released of the tension they entered with and happy to see their massage therapist. 😊
- Super demanding and was way too difficult for how inexperienced at the time - but it helped me understand that good communication and a great massage was the key to controlling that and getting his help for me to help him. He's a regular now and I'm glad I was able to experience that first without giving up. Being able to reach that peace with my client served as a great motivation for intense studying of anatomy and psychology.
