MuscledMadison's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I do, it seems like a long time ago! I stumbled into the field, but I knew I had a natural knack for it from my years of training myself and others, and my knowledge of kinesiology.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would miss it. It's incredibly satisfying to help others reduce their pain and stress through the power of touch.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Relaxed, rejuvenated, and moving better.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My knowledge of kinesiology and anatomy and my experience as an athlete and personal trainer, which allows me to go beyond sensual techniques to restore soft tissue and joint mobility, and reestablish balance of movement to my clients. I also continue to educate myself on massage techniques by reading extensively.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
No, but I think without it you will reach a plateau in the services and solutions you can provide.
Why did you become a Masseur?
To work for myself, doing something I find incredibly satisfying.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to travel, read, lift weights, cook and hike. I'm a homebody -- I love a quiet night at home with my pets.
