I have an athletic, muscular build and threw out my low back which made bending and standing straight extremely painful and needed professional, expert therapeutic bodywork to help me recover. I got what I needed. He began face up, releasing trigger points in my pecs, rectus adominus, psoas, illiacus and, after flipping over, QLs and SI joint. The level of work was just what I needed and my back has recovered nicely. It’s good to know who you can go to when you are in pain and need help getting better. Thank you!

Alan is a superb bodyworker. I have been faithful to my previous bodyworker for 16 years, but it was clear that, in one treatment, Alan relieved a lot of pain that I had just learned to live with under my previous bodyworker’s care. After two treatments, my background pain was completely resolved. I quit my previous bodyworker and took a biweekly slot in Alan’s schedule. He is the best bodyworker I’m met in several years on RentMasseur. I marked “relaxing ambiance” below, but it was an outcall—and, there is no choice on this form for outcalls.

With all this working from home, I’d accumulated a whole host of new aches and pains and needed the attention of someone who knows what they’re doing. That would be Neuromuscular (Alan). He was able to find all the various trouble spots, and one by one work through them. To be clear, this is serious bodywork more akin to physical therapy, as opposed to a relaxing oily massage. I love relaxing massages too, but this is where to go to get things fixed. Think of when you take your car in for a tune-up, and how much better it runs after you’ve picked it up. It’s like that, but with your body. I feel tuned up, with better posture and fewer aches and pains from sitting at a computer for work. I also feel more confident doing my workouts since my body feels more balanced and the trouble spots less troublesome. And while this is a serious, down-to-business massage, Neuromuscular/Alan is also very friendly and personable. I’ll be going back regularly for sure!

Alan is the most experienced massage and bodyworker I know. I was a massage therapist for 15 years prior to going into my current work. Alan continued getting more and more training over the years...I'd guess he is one of the most knowledgable massage therapists in SF. The work Alan does is quite remarkable. Recently I was having severe shoulder pain and could not raise my arms over my head. I was also having hip pain. After 3 sessions I could raise my arms again and after continuing for a few more appointments I stopped having any shoulder pain at all! My hip still needs regular work to keep the muscles from freezing up, but at least I now where to go.. Also, he was able to alleviate issues I was having from repetitive stress injuries. This is not feel good swedish bodywork, this is extreme trigger point therapy and hurts as the muscles release their spasm. If you breathe through it you will feel fantastic afterwards. I highly recommend Neuromuscular/ Alan, he saved me getting shoulder surgery!
