NormalBud's Massage Interview
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Indeed, but not because I think so, but because others consistently provide feedback that they left feeling better than they anticipated.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
It was a straight guy, nervous to be massaged by another male as he'd previously only been worked on by females. After his jitters went away, he quickly understood how amazing the male-to-male connection was, and how great the body work felt. I ended up seeing him on a frequent basis with successful results each time.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I'm an empath, and I love to work together on providing you with the best experience.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Human touch. Massage is all about body contact...just just pressing your fingers against a body part.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Released.
Why did you become a Masseur?
So I could connect with individuals in a more meaningful way.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Beach, lake, snow skiing.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Understood, and to walk away feeling great.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Start practicing. Get with people who will give you honest feedback. Listen. Know that not everyone likes the same thing.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Experience/massages more than training. We all know what we know from school, but it's the real life experiences that have made it better.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would absolutely miss the connection that happens when I have someone on my table.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've always been fascinated by the idea of doing bodywork. While this is a second career for me, I've been doing it for years and am fortunate to be able to connect with people on a daily basis to continue improving my skills.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
Traveling is an amazing way to engage with others, get out of your comfort zone, and learn the ways of individuals that you'd otherwise never interact with. Traveling is a lovely way to see things through a different lens.
