Obsidiann's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My very first client was amazing! I went into the session a little nervous,(just from fearing the unknown) but that all changed almost instantly and the time spend working with the client felt more like I was massaging one of my friend.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I'm definitely one of the people that would say that. It's one of those jobs that happens to be mutually rewarding. I would definitely miss my masseur days. And all the people I get to meet and help 😉
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I would consider myself a successful masseur because things like that you just know. Clients give a number of tells( both verbal and nonverbal) indicating whether they are enjoying the session or not. And I make sure to end each session with something that I am POSITIVE will leave the client feeling happier and more relaxed 😌
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
Your goals are my goals! I am fully there to assist YOU. If you're curious about something ask and we can work on getting you exactly what you want with your time. Im a people pleaser. Both in my work and in my everyday life.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Relaxed, stress free, and egar to rebook!
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Im obsessed with self improvement, in my spare time I'm probably doing yoga, meditation, reading, working out or taking a warm bath(with bubbles)
Why did you become a Masseur?
I've always been aware of positive touch and it's benefits. So I thought why not, you're job is literally make people feel good!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Try it! Because you will never know if its for you if you don't. And after trying it, if you hate it( dont like touching people/being touched) Dont do it! But after trying it and liking it go for it!! And always be on time!
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
As a masseur you learn from each client// so you never stop learning// and the clients that Ive had shape my skill and technique in a way that is unique too me.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been a masseur for 2 years now. And I see myself doing it for at least another 5
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
It's a mix. I go and I stay, for example this season I've been more of a homebody. but that also has a lot to do with the cold
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
In short, It's not necessary but its helps
