Pono's Massage Interview
Why did you become a Masseur?
I like touching people! It’s rewarding and fulfilling to touch people in pleasurable ways that make them feel good - it generates happiness hormones in the body which feel good!
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My experience getting massages! I’ve been getting massages for many years and have had lots of great and not-so-great massages. I provide clear communication with clients about their expectations and desires and discuss boundaries so we know where they all are! That makes for the beginning of a great massage session!
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I’ve been providing massage professionally for about 8 years. I will continue until I’m not enjoying it anymore - which might be a very long time!
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I would like clients to feel seen as they are and accepted without judgment.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Training is very important - but mostly heart is required, and we all have heart. We just need to learn how to open it and share that energy with each other. I do that through touch.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
It is alluring to touch, massage, and give pleasure to many different people. I enjoy it immensely and will miss it whenever I stop - I’m certain of that.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I remember my first client - because he is still a client! I was so excited and even more ecstatic that he enjoyed the session so much he has continued to return for 8 years!
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
The massage session is for the client’s benefit and pleasure. Not everyone likes to be touched the same way - open communication helps me to touch you in ways that feel good to you, and your body & soul.
