ReadytoPlease's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first client had a profession that involved a lot of physical labor (heavy lifting, moving boxes, etc). He needed me to spend a lot of time on specific muscles. On that first day, I had to remember not to be afraid to touch my client below the waist. That's where all the strain was! He used his legs and back to earn a living and I was happy to use my hands to make him feel better.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Yes. I enjoy making people feel better and seeing a tired, often stressed client leave refreshed and rejuvenated.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes. My clients are satisfied.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Like they were treated with respect and that they made a good investment by choosing me.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Don't be afraid to try it. For the first time in my life, I have a profession that I enjoy.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Yes. Training and humility. Never be afraid to learn something new. Clients appreciate a wide range of techniques.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
Tell me what you expect/want and don't be timid. I love conversation and prefer to be the listener. The best part of being a masseur is hearing positive affirmation from my client.
