RelaxWithJay's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: May 06, 2021
- I love to travel!!! BUT... I also love staying home, cuddled up on the sofa watching movies or a good Netflix Series too hehe.
- I'm going to be open and honest with this one.
I would like EVERY SINGLE ONE of my clients to know that I struggle with insecurities just like everyone else.
We are all human and therefore we all are going to feel insecure about something of ourselves.
It's important to remember that everyone has a story no matter what the look like or where they come from. So I strive to treat everyone with respect because you have no idea what that person could be going through.
- I want them to want more! Lol I'm kidding (well not really, but you know what I mean ha)
I want them to feel satisfied.
Even if they don't come back to see me, I want all of my clients to be happy after our session together.
- I think that it's important to keep learning.
Whatever that looks like, I think there is always room for improvement.
- I graduated from massage school in 2016.
I plan to do this for as long as I am able.
- I'm not sure to be honest.
There are a lot of talented therapists out there.
I will say though that I TRULY care about my clients.
And I don't say that lightly.
If you ever come to see me, you'll understand what I'm talking about :)
- Don't do it for the money.
Be a healer and if you're good enough, the money will come.
Chasing money never works out in the end.
- I would give massages to my friends all the time and loved seeing their reactions.
They pushed me to give it a try and I'm thankful they did.
Touch is a very powerful and healing thing.
Helping others is very satisfying for me.
- I play softball for a gay league in Dallas.
That's mainly my social outlet so I'm doing that a lot.
I also love to paint when I can. I think its good to have multiple outlets where you can really be yourself.
Seems to be good therapy :)
- My goal is to put all of my clients on a cloud.
If I fail, something is wrong.
- That's a hard question to answer because success if very subjective.
Some people see success as a monetary thing, while others see it as a satisfactory thing.
I personally would say that I am because I feel like I truly help my clients feel better.
And to me that's what a therapist is supposed to do for his/her clients.
- You know, people ask me this question a lot.
My answer is always Yes and No.
I would miss the connections I establish with my clients.
The interactions, the conversations, the stories, etc.
I could do without the sore forearms though lol.
- I do :) If I'm honest I was a little nervous. It was an outcall appointment and the client at the time was a friend of a friend that was also a massage therapist, so I REALLY wanted to impress him since I was fresh out of massage school.
Long story short, he was very helpful and gave me fantastic advice that I still use to this day.
He is one of the reasons I've stuck with massage for 4+ years, through the highs and the lows.
