RileySd's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Nov 17, 2023
- I started massage in 2002 so I've been in practice for over sixteen years. I do not plan on stopping anytime soon . I will probably be involved in The Healing Arts in some form for the rest of my life whether it's one-on-one Hands-On sessions or working with groups of men.
- In my spare time I love being out in nature, going for hikes or going to the beach. I really enjoy cooking for family and friends and appreciate my close friendships. I enjoy riding my bike, doing yoga, dancing and moving my body so I stay limber and strong to do my work. I'm not a traveling masseur but I do travel when money and time allows.
- Massage therapy has been my primary source of income for over 21 years. I have a long list of clients that I have worked with for many years and I'm always getting new clients that are visiting San Diego or that are new to massage. I pay my rent, I pay my bills and I have repeat clients, so yes I would say I'm a successful Massage Therapist.
- I want all my clients to leave feeling relaxed, more comfortable in their body than when they arrived. I want them to feel to have felt safe, comfortable, nurtured, and that there money was well spent. If they're doing a Tantric session I want them to feel very alive, tingly and to have experienced a part of their erotic body that they've never experienced before.
- I don't know if it's addictive but it is part of my life and I miss it when I take time off. I have met so many wonderful people and have been witness to so much healing that it truly humbles me to be able to work in The Healing Arts. I have been in private practice for over 16 years and I can't imagine doing anything else. I love helping people feel better and I love to teach.
- My first client was in 2002. I had already been in massage school for a few months and once I learned the basic routine I needed to log practice hours. I ran an ad as a student offering massage. At that time I had a roommate and I did not have a private massage room so I worked in the living room when my roommate was not home . I was nervous but the client enjoyed the session and to this day he is still a client of mine. Going to massage school was not a last minute decision. I knew I had the gift of touch I just wanted to learn more and to be able to hold a viable practice. It's been over 16 years and I still love my work.
