RubRubRelax's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
When I was a young boy, my dad made me give him neck and shoulder rubs and would critique my efforts. When I was in high school I discovered M4M massages in my local area. I was always on the table asking questions about their techniques. In college while giving free neck and shoulder rubs to my co-workers someone suggested I could make money massaging, and that began my massage career. I really do not remember my first client, but I am sure I was somewhat nervous about my timing even though I was confident in my skill. Put your naked body on my table and let me know what you think.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes, I do consider myself to be a successful masseur based upon the feedback of my clients and growth of my practice. It really does not matter what I think, it is however, most important what my clients think. Based upon my rate of return customers I would say I must be doing something right. I encourage guys to give me a try.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want my clients to not just feel, but also believe that I genuinely care about them. I want my clients to feel I helped them to achieve their massage goal whether that be to simply relax and/or relieve muscle stiffness and pain and/or release built up stress and tension. I want my clients to feel they got a fantastic massage that was worth the cost of the massage and to look forward to a return visit. At the end of a massage I want my clients to wish that the massage was longer, rather than wish it ended sooner.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Tough question as there are so many different types of masseurs and techniques. So how do you distinguish one good masseur from another good masseur? I am not certain what the answer is other than how I was raised.
My mama was raised in the south so growing up, I was taught kindness, common courtesy to others and politeness. I also grew up in the Hospitality Industry where exceptional customer service was the standard. Therefore, I treat everyone who walks through my front door as if they were someone important...because they are important to me...they are my customers. I am always excited at the opportunity to meet someone new and get to know them. I hope you will allow me the opportunity to get to know you soon!
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been a Masseur for over 30+ years. I love what I do so I do not see me quitting anytime soon. Come lay your naked body on my heated massage table and find out why!
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Absolutely...I love what I do and I want my clients to feel that love. There are days that I anxiously await the phone to ring with a potential new client. I long for the chemistry that is mixed together in my massage sessions. Book a massage session and lets see what chemistry we produce!
Why did you become a Masseur?
I became a Masseur when I discovered that my talents absolutely help people. The combination of my strong hands, my intuitive sense and my understanding of a mans body allow me to bring relaxation and healing into the body I am working on and focused on. Give me your naked body and discover my talents.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel and prefer Tropical destinations. I love Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean. I live in the desert so in the summer months I am always looking for my next travel adventure.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
My birth sign is Pisces. It is said that Pisces effortlessly adapts to their surroundings. Deeply empathetic, they often exhibit a gentle, patient nature, but one that is in want of inspiration. They are loving, tender and very generous with their heart. I believe this to be true of myself and hope that my clients feel this upon entering my home.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I love to travel, especially to tropical locations. I also enjoy shopping and being creative in my home environment. I love to entertain family and friends.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
A good masseur is intuitive and loves what they do. You cannot do this type of work and be good at it if you simply view it as a job. I love what I do, and although I get paid for my work, my greatest satisfaction comes from hearing my clients rave about my services
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
When my clients leave, I want them to feel as if they got more than they paid for. I want them to want to tell others about their massage experience with me. That I relieved them of their aches and pains, and melted away their stress and tension. They feel rejuvenated and happy.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Training is necessary but even more important is that you are intuitive and can read a persons body as you work. I always have a watchful eye on my clients entire body as I work not just the area I am working on. Many times when you find a knot a client will tighten up in other areas (the buttocks, the feet and legs). When I witness this, I check in with my client and offer breathing techniques as well as lightning up on the pressure.
