Satyrssage's Massage Interview
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes, I am glad to say that I have many clients whom I've worked with for 20+ yrs. With most new clients becoming longtime clients I consider that to being a good indication that I am a successful bodyworker.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
That their bodies issues were heard and addressed. Getting up from the table refreshed.
And glad to have scheduled their next appointment!
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been practicing massage therapy since '01.
Gratefully, I have been able to let go of other work as my clientele has increased and returned. Leaving my calendar more available for clients.
I would like to continue working with clients for as long as I am on this side of the flowers!
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I am a big outdoors fan, naked! - hiking, biking, camping, beach.
Living in a cosmopolitan city, I enjoy city life and all that it has to offer.
Reading - historical and science fiction mostly
Cooking - during the growing season, I also work at a Farmers Market and eat very very well!
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Relaxed, rejuvenated and refreshed. Heard and seen.
Feeling that they enjoyed their personal bodywork session. And that the bodywork experience was well worth the fee.
To leave feeling confident in my talent, knowledge, and of course discretion.
That my studio is a clean and peaceful workspace.
And have already scheduled their next session.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I have always been a physical being, growing up in a natural environment - outside in the forest, on the river, riding horses and/ or motorcycles... However my 22 year Yoga practice has been a major grounding filter for all the accumulated physical knowledge that I have. Greatly benefiting my day to day life and my 20 year bodywork practice!
Why did you become a Masseur?
Well, I tripped and sprained my ankle pretty bad coming down the steps of the CTA in Fall 1998. Not having any knowledge of the mechanics of my ankle I purchased an anatomy book. Realizing that I had no clue as to what was literally under the surface of my skin I pledged to find out more about this piece of equipment I rely upon 24/7!
Massage therapy came about because I wanted to learn all about the touchy feely that I was already good at, yet needed the knowledge to consciously create desired results. So I learned all the big words!
