SmoothFit's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Oct 03, 03:25
- My favorite response from clients is hearing that that was one of the best massages of their lives. Maybe that's an ego thing for me, but it truly does make me feel so validated. I'm so thankful that in my experience, I hear this often and have retained such a strong returning client base to my main areas of travel and hometown.
- I travel often between Hawaii, Los Angeles, and Dallas, as these are where my families are. However, I do travel to other places as well and I will post those dates in my About Me page as well as my Travel settings. If you'd like to request for me to come to your city, I'd love to hear from you!
- They say go where you are skilled, and I know I am a strong, creative, and advanced level masseur with a growing repertoire of techniques. I love to learn the human body, different massage modalities, and meeting interesting and great people. I feel very fortunate to have found my calling.
- As you may see from my reviews, I specialize in more deep tissue work. I focus more on slow, controlled, deep release. I enjoy massages that leave me feeling more loose and mobile afterwards and I have been taught that deep work is a great way of accomplishing that. When we are more mobile and limber, we are able to perform better in all aspects of life. That is what I strive to give to my client.
- Everyone's goal for massage is varied and I would hope that each person leaves with a sense of satisfaction after having a massage from me. From simple relaxation, to myofascial release, to deep tissue work, or even just basic human connection -- I am to please and satisfy.
- Yes! I believe continued training in any field of work is vital to the person's success. I am always on a constant lookout for other masseurs and learning from them. I am also going to Thailand for a month to develop my massage skills and incorporate more Thai moves in my repertoire of moves.
- I have a passion for health and fitness. I am consistent with my gym routine and try to maintain an active lifestyle outside the gym as well. I play volleyball and kickball for various sports leagues and when I am not doing that, I enjoy developing my craft as a musical artist. I love to sing and perform on stage. I hope to get on a Vegas stage someday soon! ;)
- I believe a successful masseur has a number of attributes... one is the number of repeat clients they have. Many of my clients come back to me for my skills in deep tissue and myofascial release.
Another attribute of a successful masseur is their ability to read the client's body and respond accordingly. Every body is different and a successful masseur needs to adjust their technique to best suit the client.
Successful masseurs also know how to connect to the client and make them feel at ease, not just physically, but mentally/emotionally as well. Human touch is a powerful tool to connection and when it is supplemented with the ability to connect on a mental and emotional level, the overall massage experience is enhanced.
