TallTJ's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Well haha, I was the customer first and it was one of the other Masseurs that got me into this. So after the massage training and the crafting of the ad there I was ready to hit the "go live" button. I was so nervous, after all men where a pretty new thing for me and I wasn't sure i could even do it. Within 24 hours I got over 300 messages...omg i couldn't believe it! My first customer was a man named Pierre and he was so sweet and amazing. Since that day, 12 plus years now, I have had nothing but the best clients and have made friends with a large number of them. I love my work!
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
12 plus years of making people very happy they came to see me is my measure of success. So yes i feel i have been very successful and it's rare that i see someone only once.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Relaxed, Happy, Satisfied and looking forward to seeing me again soon...
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I'm a total Jock. I love the gym, the basketball court and Surfing. I'm also into Photography, Cooking and Art themed events
Why did you become a Masseur?
As I said earlier, I was the customer first and it was one of the other masseurs who suggested it to me. It's a great feeling to be of service to others.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My photos are real and my hands are Huge!
I’m also actually a fashion model that has traveled the world which means I can easily find common ground with any type of person from anywhere. I've done everything from Runway to Bespoke suits to Underwear in far away places like Shanghai China and Milan Italy. At the same time i have been able to stay humble and have never had a big ego or bad attitude. I guess it's my midwest roots. When you call me you will get an intelligent and kind response every time.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
Over 12 years. I can't imagine stopping so i guess when the phone stops ringing i'll know it's time to start writing books about it...Lol!
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I just starting to travel again after Covid. Vegas, Seattle, San Francisco and
Palm Springs, when I’m home in Hawaii.
Boston, DC and Philadelphia when I’m home in New York. And when I’m Home, home… Chicago.
Also, right now i'm considering a short contract to Japan again for modeling.
I love to travel!
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Happy and relaxed! I want them to feel like they made a new friend and can't wait to tell their friends about me. I want them to look forward to seeing me again as well...
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
At the beginning of Covid in 2020 I had about 4 months where I didn’t give any massages. It was so strange. I felt lonely and I missed meeting with amazing people every day.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I’m kind hearted! Yes I want to get paid. It’s business of course. But for me it’s the business of making people feel good. It’s such a pleasure to offer someone an escape from the stresses of life. It’s my privilege to serve them really.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Run! Haha No I’m not serious. Just don’t take my clients. Haha.
Seriously though. You have to think of it as therapeutic help. Body yes but mind and spirit as well. It’s a big responsibility to connect with a fellow human on this level. You can literally make or break someone’s day. Listen to them! Then tailor your service intuitively.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Yes training is important. But personality is also crucial. You have to think repeat clients not one time customers.
Be honest and authentic. Starting with real and current photos!
