TantraThaiTodd's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Dec 08, 2021
- I make an effort to make genuine connections with all my clients. Many are now considered dear friends.
- Blissfully happy and lighter in their bodies.
- Training is definitely important. We need to keep our bodies healthy and injury free in order to help others. Training helps us to stay healthy.
- Know your body. That is the one critical component to being a good masseur. When you know your own body, you can help others to know theirs.
- Love yoga, kayaking, and botanical gardens. I enjoy being outside spending time with friends. I also enjoy a quiet day in my garden. I love discovering new places.
- When a client comes to me, judgements are left behind. We meet with open hearts and no expectations. From there, we let the session unfold.
- Absolutely! Friends were exchanging massages and we were all helping each other feel good.
- I’m not sure that being a massage therapist is addictive, necessarily, but I cannot imagine a life where I’m not helping others. If that’s an addiction, I’m an addict! 😃
- I don’t remember the exact moment I decided to become a massage therapist. I guide yoga practices, hold transformational breathwork sessions, hold tantra workshops as well as offer massage. The common denominator in all of these is my desire to help people find ways to help themselves not only feel better but live more authentically. This is how we find true Joy. I am still working on myself in so many ways but if I can share something that has helped me with others that ultimately helps them as well, this makes me happy. Massage is just one way of doing it.
- Traveling is a passion of mine! Meeting new people and experiencing new cultures breathes life into every essence of my being. I am so very lucky and grateful to be able to massage wherever I travel. It brings two pleasures of mine together.
- I got my first massage certification in 2006 but prior to that, I was receiving weekly deep tissue massage for injury prevention. I would often give people massages based on what I felt during that time of my life when I was receiving so many massages. I love helping people feel better, whether that’s physically, mentally, emotionally, or energetically. We peel away the layers of protective facade so we can truly shine as our authentic selves. This is freedom. This is bliss. The more I continue to learn about myself, the more I want to share. As long as that is happening, I don’t plan to stop massaging.
- Absolutely! Most of my clients are longtime, repeat clients. I’ve gotten most of my clients via word of mouth. To me, that speaks volumes. That said, there isn’t one massage therapist that is good for everyone. We all have different techniques and approaches. We all have our individual energy we bring to a session. The client also brings their own unique energy. It’s all about the connection we make with each other. But when that connection is there, nothing can beat how good we feel afterwards…both the client and therapist benefit from the session. My goal is to make as deep of a connection as possible with each and every client in order to have the best experience during a session.
- When people are feeling radiant, lighter in their bodies, blissed out and happy, it has been a good session. It is my intention for people to remember the radiant miracles they are during a session; to FEEL their natural state of being within their body. I want them to feel connected to their authentic selves, without judgements. We do this by addressing their physical pain, if any, so they can begin to feel how incredibly good their body can feel once again. I like to show people how good they can feel. When people leave, I want them to be unable to suppress their smile. The world needs more people smiling.
