ThatMagicTouch's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Jun 20, 2022
- I want them to feel lighter than air, completely relaxed, free from aches and pains, and rejuvenated in their body and mind. A smile on the way out is a pretty good indication of this -- a great review on the RM site that leaves me smiling is the ultimate expression, though!
- I have yet to feel "successful" in this pursuit from a monetary aspect, so I'd have to get back on that one. Maybe by then I'll have the extensive training of real life to back it up? TBD
- Body contact is probably more intimate than ***, so be sure you're prepared for that - mentally, physically, etc. Know your boundaries but come with an open mind and caring, healing intentions. Try not to talk too much, or too little. Make the effort to remember client's names, personal preferences, and favorite things - make even more effort to note their quirks and dislikes. People appreciate options on services, amenities, and appointments but never give them more than three, with one being "price upon request."
Let people know about changes in scheduling ASAP, and thank them for their flexibility instead of apologizing for your mistake.
Make it fun, and actually have fun.... everyone wants to have a good time and you're the one to start that fire.
- I'm working on being present. When you live life in the present moment, you'll never regret the past or have anxiety about the future. That's why the present is the best gift you could ever get - and it only can come from you.
Being a masseur is what I'm doing presently, and for now, it's working well. Whether or not I miss the work, I am sure that some of the incredible clientele I'm meeting presently are sure to become invaluable lifelong relationships. That's how I value this experience and what it might bring.
- Love art, the creative process, cooking and everything epicurean, traveling to unexpected places, music and film festivals, architecture, interior design, furniture and lighting.
- At this point in my life, I am letting my Sagittarius moon take the wheel and leaning into my innate desire for adventure and exploration. Seeing a client's home is also a super informative glimpse into their personality, preferences, and lifestyle choices...all which becomes invaluable
if I am attempting to provide an experience tailor made for their needs.
- My ultimate goal is to have a client feel so good during a session, they're already booking the next few appointments before we even part ways. Time is a precious asset and my clientele usually need to keep a very tight schedule, so being a repeat booking is one of the highest compliments I can receive in this line of work.
- A fully considered sensory experience is key to what I think is a true holistic reset. Through scent (aromatherapy) sound (binaural frequencies) sight (chromatherapy) and of course touch, almost every element can be customized to influence the body and achieve an improved state of being. While most of these modalities do need to be practiced in an ongoing ritual for maximum effect, I think that for many people who may never even considered or experienced it firsthand, the initial rush of positive energy should make a lasting impression. At the very least, spark a curiosity to explore it further - which is really what the journey to healing should be... a desire to better oneself however works for you.
- I was born to be an entertainer - not on stage, but in the world of hospitality, hosting, and private events. There's nothing more perfect to me than when every element of event harmonize in a magical and serendipitous perfection... that moment when everyone turns to each other to say "damn, this is WAY better than I ever expected it to be." This is achieved through a meticulous attention to detail, a dash of the unexpected, flattering lighting, an excellent soundscape, and a shared sense of adventure and a shared willingness to be real. At the center of it all, the host (and the essential co-hosts) work together to pull it off with little (visible) effort, taking the party fouls in stride as they somehow pull off multiple costume changes to guide the collective mood shifts. If I could give everyone a night they'll never forget, I've done my job for this lifetime.
