TouchJunkie's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I wish! I've been working so long I don't recall my first. However, I do remember how excited I was and that feeling of about to do something amazing that was going to change this man's life for next 90 minutes. Also, the energy between us was very charged and I still strive to feel this with every client...even 20 years later. I love what I do!
As far as deciding to be a masseur, it was a natural progression for me who LOVED getting massaged. To this day, I still use techniques I learned from a collection of all my prior masseurs in Los Angeles where I started.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Addictive is not the word I would use, but we all experienced the inability to work during the pandemic - not cool. I'm just so happy being back at it again. Aren't you?
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
100%! My 'barometer' of being successful is not by the # of clients each month, but rather how satisfied they are after having been on my table. My regulars are very special to me since they continue coming back because of their own personal experience. For that, I'm incredibly grateful. I must be doing something right.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy working on my body - a great habit to have. Therefore, the reason I am rarely available during the morning hours is because this is my workout time. I usually get in both a fasted cardio session & a separate weightlifting session before 1pm. I can also be found running or baking something delicious. I got the runners legs to prove it! Former track & field athlete who's competed in 4 Gay Games.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Be sure to enjoy your work & strive to be better with every client. Bodywork is very intuitive and men will pick up on your stress of the day, your timing/rhythm, and please take pride in your work space. The less clutter, the better!
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My years of doing bodywork and my attention to detail while working on you. After 20+ years, I've learned not to be a slave to my work & do not need to work on every inquiry. This allows me to be more critical of who I decide to invite onto my table. Be respectful & we'll get along just fine.
