TravlNHnds's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Apr 27, 21:21
- Without knowing who someone is, it's still difficult to answer this. There are guys doing this for the reasons of truly working on the body to relax and then really relax guys, and there are others who feel a light touch is equally exciting. I tend to read the body and do my best at adapting my pressure and style to tailor the massage for the client individually. And I don't think I'm under or overselling it.
- I have a heart that I wear on my everywhere, and truly take this seriously but playfully at the same time. I'm a 'call it as I experience it' kind of guy, which has both its pro's and con's. I try to make the time best utilized while keeping true to whatever energy was in mind prior to the session.
I've been doing this since 2021 on-site, following a short lived attempt at being on rent men. I needed to provide a little more than just entertaining for the time. So I gave it a guy, and found that bodywork is something I came to enjoy naturally.
I do love to laugh, and also want my clients to feel at ease and "at home". So if you show here, be comfortable talking about whatever, or not talking at all, and I will be willing to provide a truly relaxing session easier that way.
Tid bit things:
Skydived, Climbed Broken Top, Wheel of Fortune contestant, Universal Studios Hollywood memories, Lived with ghosts in an old Victorian mansion, Found my golf swing, Play the djembe drum, Love my cowboy boots, have boarded dogs, and mix some music here and there for fun!
- I travel when and where the moment takes me, and that means anywhere from the east to the west coast of the states. I have yet to travel across the pond to Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, etc. Really hope to see more of the world someday.
- "John" was an incredible first client; the nervousness I was experiencing matched his!! As it turns out, I was his first 'experience' M2M, and he was my first naked man on a table ready to pay for my time. I assumed he had other masseurs work on him, but when he flinched a little as I was near those glutes, and admitted to this being his first experience, it made things so much hotter and more comfortable (at least for me)!!!
- I've been spending spare time walking all over the city, and mixing music on the computer. Still trying to play golf. And planning a trip to move to Oregon.
- How to sound positive when answering this will be a challenge. I accept challenges, so here's my best shot: Success is relative and subjective. What one considers 'successful' is pitiful to some others. Alternatively, some who have achieved success may not even know it, since they are predisposed to the race to get to whatever #1 spot they have in mind. It's an addicting word, not so much a power word. I find myself alive and well, and the business of being a masseur has been, on average, steady. I have to continue in the race blindly, though. Fact is, I love the act of massage.
- Only since September 2022 have I had the pleasure of being a masseur. My account was created when I attempted to migrate from rentmen.com to rentmasseur.com when travelling across the states. I'll probably keep doing this as long as there is interest.
- I'm going to pass on this one. To ask if I will miss something that has yet to end or leave, makes me a bit curious. What do you know, rentmasseur?? LOL
Everything can be addictive. Reading over an interview and conversing about it can be addictive. Taking yourself out on a date can be addictive. The answer to the addiction is never abstinence. It's simply companionship that will tackle the addiction.
- I want all my clients to leave with the assurance they chose wisely. They also leave clean, relaxed, refreshed, and with no harsh critique on the services I provided. I want them (potentially you) to become a regular. Finally, I want all who leave my place to be satisfied in knowing they were not cheated in terms of pay, or time.
- Not specifically in terms of knowing the anatomy and labelling of every muscle and tendon, body type identification, or how to address a client with a disability. Two things are necessary though: Know how to ask the right questions. The other is, admit your novice ability when asked for bodywork you have yet to educate yourself about. Majority of the time, these two things earn more respect than someone making blind attempts with nothing more than their ego.
- Read between the lines. Cover yourself in all the things you think you know but have yet to experience. Test run your approach with a friend or two. Never assume what your client's hidden or unspoken intentions are. Maintain professionalism, as silly as that sounds. Don't overcharge. Make sure you are rested. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. After all that....have fun! Be yourself. Just be aware your 'self' isn't always going to be received as you hoped it would be.
- Comfortable in multiple ways. Sure, relaxed and rested is a comfort. I also want the experience of connection through our interaction to leave an impression just as well; that you will be wanting to come back another time.
- I have a natural way with customer satisfaction, I guess. And even though I can not bring myself to reenter the service and/or retail industries currently, it is what I know best. I also have always known I have a way with my hands. Strangely enough, my mom told me this at age five (she used to force me to rub her feet). So masseur is a great compromise and prevents me from being a complete recluse.
