Tyfenx's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first client was a guy in Massage School from a different class before me, but we were paired so they could give positive feedback. I was very happy to end up with him in the beginning because he was very attractive. Right after that, I had to take care of a female, who was extremely uncomfortable with her body, and wanted the sheets wrapped up so tightly that the only things I can really massage in the end, with her arms in her feet!
Later that evening, the guy I had Massage came over to give me my positive feedback, which was very positive, and also to invite me to his home the next day saying “come over and let me show you how real man-to-man massage can be done without the shame and guilt of the sheets “.
Needless to say after we massage each other that day, true, professional, therapeutic, but also free from clothing, on the European way, I knew that I was gonna love massaging man! This is why, for my license, Massage Therapy practice I only except Nanas clients. No shame, no sheets, just pure comfort and relaxation.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I can see with all honesty that this is true. I actually left The Business a little before the pandemic and then lost my ability to get my license back for a few years after that.
Recently, I started missing it again and I got my license reinstated. I’m glad to be back doing man-to-man massage because the more I relax you, the more relaxed, I myself become.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes, I do consider myself a successful therapeutic massage therapist. I can help with sore muscles and a stressed out mind, without the constraints of spa rules and regulations.
I may not be successful at some of the other categories on the site, but that’s OK with me because that’s not my focus. You come to me when you’re ready for a serious, professional, and focused massage therapy session where I can focus on your muscles in your mind! That is success to me. All while you are completely in your most comfortable state of being.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I’m a free spirit with a very open mind. Massage to me is never supposed to be constricting or have any level of Shane suggested. I have no problem with a man being in his natural state and I think it’s a sign of good health when there is a lot of positive blood flow throughout the body. this only adds to my feeling of confidence that I have achieved my goal and that’s the biggest reward for me
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I truly want them to feel like they want to invite me back for another session and many more in the future. Relaxed. In a state of calm.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Hi actually make hair care products, and would like to start formulating some body scrubs to add to my existing services and bring the spa to you! More will be revealed about that in the future.
Why did you become a Masseur?
Most truthfully, I believed that I could help heal people, body mind and spirit. I still believe that and I enter every massage session with the intention of doing so.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Get through the schooling, part of it simply because it will give you a better idea of the body and what in fact, we are actually working on. Then once you have the basics, just keep massaging and creating your own flow. Your massage business can be uniquely your own.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I personally think that all of us are part of our own professional brotherhood. Therefore, I don’t really want to distinguish myself in any negative way. But if I had to come up with some thing, it would be my ability to help people feel comfortable from a service background going as far back as 1986. Service is what I’m all about and I want to deliver the best massage that I can give you, each time -every time.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
14+ years
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I am hoping to take my massage game on the road and travel a little bit more in the coming year. At least within Florida to start.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Yes, I think so. I believe practice makes perfect. But I also know from my own personal journey through becoming a licensed massage therapist, the actual paper from the state really means nothing. What means something is that with each massage, I learned a little more, and became more confident, more skilled. It’s a craft.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want you to have gained a level of trust and confidence that you could call me back again and again. Also that you are able to ask me to focus on more specific muscles that may be causing you pain or soreness in the future. Each time I leave I want you to be more and more comfortable with me.
