TylerGirthy's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My very first client for pay was a very handsome, very masculine blonde football coach. He insisted that we do the massage through a T-shirt rather than using massage cream. While I am happy to work however the client likes, that was not a great first experience due to the T-shirt, but it was a great first experience regarding who he was.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I don't want to think about that.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Oh, absolutely! I have a regular white color day job, but when I do a good job pushing papers, all I get is more work. When I do a good job getting out knots and giving people what they want, they thank me profusely! Hell I've had three marriage proposals because of how I make people feel.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I have always tried to be successful in anything that I want to do. One day I decided to ride a bicycle cross country and I did it. After I saw A Chorus Line, when I was a good ole boy from Maine, I knew I had to play Bobby professionally. It was very tough for me to go and sign up for ballet and modern dance, but I did it, and after two years of training, I landed the role after my first audition. Good looks help!
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I would like them to feel like they are going to tell all their friends, but that is rare. So I guess I would like them to feel like they can't wait to come back.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I suppose I like the personal interaction. I knew I would be good at it, and I knew people would love my touch. I’m not shy.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
I'm not writing that here.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I was trained in the early 90s, but I only started doing it professionally in 2004. I received a "deep tissue" massage from a prominent Boston masseur, I thought he did a terrible job and I knew that if I advertised, I would clean up. The rest is history.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I cannot say that anything distinguishes me from all the other masseurs, but I take pride in my work and I work hard the entire time someone is on the table, I use the best cream available, enjoy what I'm doing, I treat everyone with respect, even the ones who don't treat me so well, (which is extremely rare), and I do everything I can to make sure people have nothing but great things to say about me and my work. Oh, I think there is one thing that distinguishes me from almost everyone else in the world but you need to see my private pictures for that.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I think adequate training is necessary to be successful and more important, a genuine desire to be absolutely excellent is what is most important.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel, but I do not do it enough.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want them to feel like they absolutely positively know they are coming back!
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Spare time? THIS is what I do in my spare time. I love doing this!
