VersTravelNerd's Personal Masseur Interview
Last Updated: May 20, 2023

1
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?

- 40% is ability to connect with people, read body language, and respond to desires. 40% is technical training- knowing how muscles function & ability to ask specific questions about yoru client's bodies and cater the experience based on that. 10% is Chemistry. We have to be in-sync and there needs to be a certain level of mutual respect and trust in one-another 10% is luck (meaning timing, environment, comfortability); making sure their isn't somethinG weighing on us outside the moment. In full transparency there have been times when something was off and I'VE offered to pause & reschedule later, when they're feeling better construction isn't on the street, or client's phone isn't blowing up with work emergencies. Things happen-it's important to make sure you read the room to ensure client leaves happy & in better physical and mental space at the end. When it come to payment for something like that, typically I've done is pro-rated time spent, but open to dialogue. Point is I want to make sure experience is the best it can be, and that comes from being aware of your surroundings/comfortability.

2
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?

- I'm clever, educated, and kind. Qualities that are not necessary to be working in this business, but when someone has them makes all the difference in the type of experience, or depth to an experience, that two people have together.

3
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?

- Make sure you are always doing what you're comfortable with, and always trust your gut. Most people out here and most guys I meet can be a little indecisive, but once committed to meeting they are true to their word, and respectful. If you aren't getting that vibe, then maybe it's not the right fit, and it's ok to walk away and leave money on the table, if it means keeping your self-worth, your safety, and in some cases sanity! Don't ever do anything you aren't comfortable with, and you'll be sure to always see the positive in any situation you put yourself in.

4
Why did you become a Masseur?

- When I was in college I had the hottest neighbor. I would always see him walking different guys in and out of his apartment. All varying looks, attraction levels etc. I would sit outside on the stairs and smoke a joint sometimes so I could see him, and we started smoking weed together, and then hanging out. Finally I learned what he was doing in there, and after he tried to get me to film with him and I said no, he insisted I tried putting my nerdy charm to work by signing up with google. It was super successful, I met tons of amazing people, and in a large part how I was able to get degree. Now, I'm older, I've re-designed how I interact with people to ensure a comfortable, relaxing, fun and safe environment for both parties. THis can usually start with some body contact or sensual massage. The rest, usually depends on the vibe.

5
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?

- I'm obsessed with all things mid-century modern, paired with soft french-country tones, vibrant colors, and matching sets of anything get me excited. I consistently will go on bike ride around down as a form of exercise and destresser. Love hanging out in the locker room after working out to see what kind of trouble I can get into. And I have loved meeting interesting and exciting people that being on here has already connected me too ;)

6
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?

- Traveling feeds my soul. I try to travel as often as I can. I tend to have the most volume of work here in SF, so when traveling I usually try to plan it a bit in advance.

7
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?

- Relaxed, warm, happy. Safe, spent, and ***y. I want everyone to leave here feeling great about the experience they had, and likewise I want to feel good about our time together when you leave too. It's so important to be mindful of the level of respect you give us. It's not always easy what we do, and we expect to be treated with respect and dignity. I will choose the man who makes me feel good about myself and the things he says to me anyday over the guy who is hot- but an *******. Remember that boys :)

8
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?

- Most clients don't realize, bu I'm actually quite shy- although i pretend not too be. Most times, if you think i'm acting weird/uninterested in person it's not that I'm not interested, but We get nervous too sometimes and I know what it's like to be on the other side of this relationship-so don't ever doubt yourself simply because you make a choice that's easiest for you in the moment.

9
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?

- This is not my full-time gig, so I don't have to say yes to every opportunity that comes my way. I'm more interested in having a smaller number of people I connect with, see regularly, hopefully travel with, and enjoy providing a great time too, then an endless list of strangers. So, in summary, I guess i'm not that successful, but that is 100% by choice.
