ZenMuscleMassage's Massage Interview
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
My introduction to massage was in 1986. It was Esalen, and it was then that I was inspired by the healing potential of massage. I subsequently studied over 700 hours, and fulfilled my dream of becoming a Certified Massage Therapist.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I enjoy meeting people from all over the world, and exploring their culture and languages. I have cruised half way 'round the world. From Barcelona, across the Atlantic, through the Caribbean and the Panama Canal, and westward to Hawaii. My goal is to complete the circumnavigation. I am also a frequent visitor to Lake Tahoe... where I sail every summer, and many of my profile pictures were taken.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I am a voracious reader, an avid writer, novice sailor and fitness and health devotee. I enjoy yoga, meditation and spiritual retreats. But much of my day to day joy comes from meeting new people and learning of their passions.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Nothing brings me more joy than to satisfy my client. I take the time to understand physical needs, always listening to the client, and using my intuition and many years of practice to foster healing. I work in tandem with the client. They are my complete focus, and all of my work is devoted to their well-being, stress release, and rejuvenation.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
My work is not done until my client is completely satisfied. I believe I offer a transformative massage. My clients enter my therapy room burdened by life's demands, and inevitably leave feeling stress-free, sated and lighter.
