AJMalone's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
While I don't specifically recall my first client, I do recall my ex boyfriend used to always tell me to go into massage when I would give him one....if he could only see me now lol
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would indeed miss my massage biz, I feel that I'm a healer and the mutually positive exchange of energy feeds my own need for human touch while delivering relaxation to others.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes, I have many clients that are repeat offenders lol.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Relaxed and satisfied.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy hiking, working out, gardening and traveling.
Why did you become a Masseur?
To heal people, even if only momentarily. I have worked in the medical field and have always worked in some sort of industry that delivers service in a health conscious setting and I'm a health conscious person.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Be tender, good and kind. Listen to your clients and be a good communicator. Basically, all the things you should be to a partner (but just by and for the hour lol).
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
10+ years; I'll continue as long as I receive interest in my services or until I get burned out, neither of which has occurred yet.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
That it was worth the chance they took. Many clients are nervous and/or first timers. I would like them to feel that they received what they wanted and are glad they reached out.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
It's an added bonus, however, being a successful masseur requires that one be intuitive and communicative more than extensive training.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I travel FREQUENTLY, but am a homebody whenever I've gotten that itch scratched. I have just as much fun staying at home all day as I do exploring new places.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My own life experiences and history = my personality.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I'm a regular guy who has a day job outside of massage and am more approachable than you think.
