Aaron's Massage Interview
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Clients tell me I offer a higher end atmosphere and experience, like their own private get away, club/spa.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I lived 9 years in Asia, 2 in South America, have been trained in many different modalities.
Extensive training is great, but experience is just as valuable.
Some people have the touch, others don't.
In the box, typical therapeutic massage is generally very much a bore.
It's usually without soul, or connection, it's rote and usually unimaginative.
You learn what you have to, to start and are armed with a great foundation.
You learn, get feedback and apply, as you go along.
After a few thousand clients under your belt, you should have a really skilled technique and style, that is very much your own.. and if you aren't Great at what you do at that point.. find something you can be great at.
Otherwise what's the point?.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Like a million bucks.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I aim to give every client the best massage they've ever had.
Every time.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
8 years
