AveryParamour's Massage Interview
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would agree that being a Masseur can be addictive! One of the MAJOR changes I experienced from the pandemic, was having to stop offering massage in Minneapolis, for obvious reasons. There were about three clients that I, pretty consistently, worked with during the quarantine. I used to see three or four massage clients A DAY, to drop to maybe one or two massage sessions a month! I can say I was missing the REWARDING feeling I get from being a Masseur. Touch is needed and has more healing power than we know!
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I graduated from my massage therapy program in 2015. One of my instructors said something that has always stuck with me.
"Massage therapy is 90% Intention and 10% technique."
When clients connect with Masseurs that are TRULY PASSIONATE about their bodywork practice, it becomes a complete body, mind and spirit healing. Energy is real. Technique is very needed knowledge though, a grounded healer is always successful.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Intention.
When I was completing my massage therapy program, my class had an instructor that always said; "Massage is 90% intention, 10% technique."
I was raised to give the shirt off my back and the food off my plate to help others'. Helping people feel better comes natural to me.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
Since 2015 and I don't plan on leaving something this rewarding, not speaking financially. For true bodyworkers and healers, this is a passion.
Why did you become a Masseur?
Who doesn't love to rub on a man? 😜
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
If I had to pick something, I'd want my clients to know that I'm all about delivering a tailored experience. From pinpointing those knots to creating a relaxing atmosphere, I'm committed to making every session unique and beneficial for them.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
When someone leaves after a session with me, I want them to feel like they're walking on air. Relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to take on the world. That's the vibe I aim for with every client.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
If you're looking to hustle in the massage game, here's the deal: hone your skills like it's your craft, 'cause it is. Get certified, specialize, and never stop learning. Build a solid network, market yourself like a pro, and always prioritize your clients' needs. Hustle hard, stay professional, and watch your client list grow.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Absolutely. My success isn't just about the number of clients I have or the cash flow. It's about the satisfaction of my clients, the relationships I build, and the impact I make on their well-being. Hustle-driven, professional, and always striving to elevate my game—that's what makes me successful in this game.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
When clients leave, I want them feeling like they just hit the jackpot. Relaxed, rejuvenated, and raving about their experience. It's all about creating that wow factor and leaving them eager to come back for more.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
As a busy entrepreneur, I'm always on the move, hustling to expand my brand and reach new clients. Traveling is part of the game, and I thrive on the energy of new places and people. But hey, when I do get a chance to kick back at home, I make it count. It's all about that balance, you know?
