BearHands's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
A good friend of mine was having some back pain, and I offered to help. I had always been good with my hands and so I often worked on friends and family. Several friends said I should start charging for my service, so I enrolled in a local massage school, and then another. eventually taking seminars and studying different modalities whenever I traveled. The rest is history.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
A life without touch...I cant imagine.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Each new client is like a job interview, and like the emotion that can be tied up in preparing a meal for a loved one I try to give my all every time. When the client has be back or lets me know I helped get rid of their pain, or emotional blockage I feel successful.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I am a fairly down to earth guy. I like open conversation and end enjoy the mystery of discovering you. Tell me what you want, need and it becomes my mission.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been CMT since 1995 and I plan on taking care of my people as long as I can.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I always felt a good treatment affects change.
So whether you're in a different physical, mental or emotional state after your treatment I feel I've done a good job.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Such individual and difficult question, come and check me out and find out for yourself..
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Relaxed, totally centered and connected.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I have always enjoyed touch, and discovered early on that I had some gifts using my hands. So I sought out teachers and studied several styles. The result is I often enjoy giving a massage as much as my client enjoys receiving.
