BodyWorkByB's Massage Interview
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes. About 60-70 percent of my clients are repeat and many tip more than my base fee. I often have first time clients request more time on the table during their first session. I have been told by multiple clients that I provide the best massage they have ever had.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I’m committed to making you feel better by improving your problem areas, increasing your energy and bringing you to total relaxation.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I would like them to feel a more whole functioning person, relaxed and wanting to come back for more.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I have a passion for providing healing touch and enjoy feeling someone’s adhesions/knots melt away under my command.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Yes and no. If you have good intuitive touch, knowledge of anatomy, received many massages and practiced at giving massages you can be successful, essentially apprenticed. But formal training from a recommended school brings you to the next level.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I love for my clients to their bodies’ feel whole and functioning when they leave as well as relaxed and wanting to come back for more.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I started giving intuitive massage along with energy work in 2005. In 2019, I gave up my career in the corporate world to pursue massage work full-time. I plan on providing energy and body work the rest of my life or until I physically can’t. It’s my passion.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first client would have to have been my mother. She had me giving her foot rubs when I was a kid. In my teens and twenties I would often give her leg/foot massages while doing intuitive energy work. She had MS and it seemed to make her feel better and helped stimulate her nerves.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Being a massage therapist and energy worker is my passion. I love helping people become pain free and better feeling body.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I discovered later in life this is my passion. I love using touch and intention to heal people and make people feel better.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I am a homebody but love travel for vacation. Though I have great set up in my in-home studio, do enjoy traveling to clients’ homes or hotels to get out of the house.
