CharlesForYou's Massage Interview
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Not necessarily 'addictive,' but massage is not something I look forward, or even want to, retire from. I just love it so much.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I do. It's been my only source of income since 2003 and I'm able to afford a nice life.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Satisfied on every level.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I had consistent back issues throughout the 90's and early 2000's and I was getting massages at my chiropractor's office and thought I'd try it out. I found it not only helpful for my body but for my mind as well.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I got my state certificate in 2003 , love it and want to continue as long as I can.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
Up until almost two yeas ago, I traveled the world: Berlin, Budapest, Sydney , Melbourne, Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Hong Kong, Mexico City, Seattle, Portland all since 2016. I hope to continue as soon as it feels safe to.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I'm very very grateful for my training . I attended The Institute for Professional and Practical Therapy , learned a lot, got a 94 out of 100 on my state test. I went back in to see what I got wrong . I'm a perfectionist.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Satisfied on every level . I try to make the session all about what I feel the client needs and what he says he wants.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I'm at the gym just about every day . I love it and find it important in so many ways. Yes, I'm vain, LOL, but it makes me happy to run, lift, socialize, check out the scenery and maintain my joy and sanity. I like movies, dinner, fun, but without the gym I wouldn't be as happy a person.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Go to school and get properly trained and cater each massage to each client's individual needs.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
Fun makes like more......well......fun . It's a priority for me every day along with being responsible and helping others. I meditate daily and live, for the most part, in gratitude for so much I've been blessed with.
