ChrisJMassage's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I wanted to be a Masseur because i’ve gotten massages in the best and always told myself, “Wow! I can definitely do this”. I also like making people feel comfortable after a long day they had.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
My clients know that when they contact me that i’m going to 100% take care of them and if they need me to work on a specific location on their body ill do it. I’m not satisfied until they are.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I like traveling a lot. Before i started massaging i drove for Lyft and i was in my car almost all day. I dont normally like staying at home waiting for clients. I really like keeping myself very busy.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
After finishing Grad School i knew that the more you do something over and over again, the better you get at it. I had a really great massage teacher and even till this day he teaches me new ways to work on the body.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to workout, create film projects, and keep myself busy. Also I’m obsessed with roller coasters haha
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
You don’t have to go to massage school
To be a masseur. You just need one really good mentor to teach you the basics, starting with Deep tissue and Swedish massages. And then after awhile create your own routine that your clients enjoy.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would miss being a masseur because i like meeting new people and making them feel
as comfortable as I possibly can.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes. If the client feels good. I feel good. I think the most successful Masseurs are the ones that enjoy helping their clients feel good about themselves after their session is over.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want them to feel physically, mentally, and emotionally great after my sessions. I don’t want any part of their body soar or in pain.
Why did you become a Masseur?
Honestly the money is great. But at the end of the day, making people feel good is a huge accomplishment. If my clients are happy. So am I.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I offer an affordable amount for my massages at a low price but I always make my clients feel the best they’ve ever felt. For me, it’s not about the money. It’s about getting the job done at the best of your abilities. And i always feel like I do.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I’ve only been a masseur for about a year now. But after finishing training and working on my own style, i think i’ll be giving massages for awhile.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want my clients to feel like they can call me anytime for a session. I want my clients to feel at their best; physically. And most important I want my clients to enjoy themselves the day after and do things physically that they couldn’t due to their body.
