ClaudeMassage's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I don’t remember my first client or that “first day”, but I remember always enjoying touch - a lifetime awareness of the pleasure of touch to becoming a professional massage therapist.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I would like my clients to feel that they were given safe space to dare ask for what they want and fully embracing the pleasure of intentional touch . . . without judgement. I would like them to feel freedom. I would like them to feel alive in their body, embrace their unique beauty and leave with an open heart for MORE pleasure in their life.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I am also a fitness coach and help people age well and enjoy their life to the fullest.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been a Massage Therapist for over 10 years.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
While training is a valuable addition to a masseur's skills, it is much more important to practice presence and intuition. A successful masseur listens, appreciates people, embraces the richness of differences in each individual client, is curious and is teachable himself.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I believe that the body posses wisdom that needs deep listening and that touch is profoundly nourishing.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I would like my clients to feel that I have deeply listened to their desires and to their body. I would like them to feel alive, relaxed, content and wanting more pleasure in their body and in their life. I would like them to feel that they can dare to ask for what they want.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I occasionally travel, and enjoy exploring my city and its surroundings and feeling the comfort in my own home.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Be you ! Be authentic, creative, bold and playful.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy cycling, exercising, the outdoors and love spending time with friends, exploring the world and meeting new people – and anything else that promotes health and wellness. Humour, play and pleasure is the way of leading my life !
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I am an adventurer of life and passionate about the people in it.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes. To me, the meaning of a successful massage therapist is feeling that you are helping your clients embrace the moment, making every breath count and enrich their lives.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Being a massage therapist is part of my life and allows me to share touch which is so important and needed by everyone. I would miss it tremendously.
