CoolMassageGuru's Massage Interview
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I am so full of life no matter what my day starts with when I start giving a massage, the mutual energy is so amazingly invigorating and healing which brings my core to a peaceful balanced state.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I am so creative with life, and the types of work I have done prior to my career as massage therapist, gave me a well rounded outlook on human nature in so many ways that to literally start my education in massage gave me a solid foundation in structure, body systems and massage history and related techniques, as a basis to understand and provide a good session in massage. my non stop interest and experience has made this the most fulfilling top of the line provider in massage that has always been an incredibly successful Masseur
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I make sure that everyone who comes to me to get a massage, leaves with exactly what they want when they arrive, thru mutual communication, intuition with my fingers, hands, etc I can feel any misalignment of tissue, and off kilter inner systems that specific touch helps. I have a this inner sense of self awareness that I make sure that I am very respectful and inviting,. So the client is in a re-energized and balanced state to return to their life with a big smile and at peace.
Why did you become a Masseur?
It made sense to me to connect on a healing and peaceful note, which what I feel is "what goes around comes around" and that good energy is never to be wasted. Mutual connections thru healing touch is one of the best ways to be at peace in every way. I have worked with many Physicians, with the approach of pills, and PT. for me that is only a pain, tension, stress, and much more killer, and not a solution to the real issues that can be nurtured and cured, especially with me as therapist and client who gets the correct therapy, and attention, with respect to their health providers.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy piano music, and a wide variety of singers, and dance. as well as construction, Plants, and antiques
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I have been a very proactive guy in everyway in my life, to make life happen in so many good and supportive ways, so that I am at peace inside, and content to live my life daily knowing that my passion is so geared to renewed, fun and full of life energy. So I share relaxing, healing, supportive, all over styles of touch, that along with providing ideas always to help continue and or enhance body language to oneself and others. especially taking time for what I call "Me Time" and cherish yourself so you can come first. physically, emotionally, etc
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
Im very open to travel anytime within the Seattle area etc, as I have done much travel thru the years, and enjoy the venue of diversity. It is fun and re-energizing thus exploring any person place and thing that I wouldn't otherwise be privileged to experience.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I'm in my 28th year, and I will never stop what I call my passion in life. I tell people...regardless of what their lifestyle is,..."What is your passion in life? Can you be successful in every way and truly enjoy your gift which is not work in my book. them think about yourself and daily life, make it as meaningful as possible, and reach for the universe. it is there waiting for everyone in every way.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I get great reviews, and comments, so what I like to make sure for every person that comes over for a wonderful session will get exactly what they want, focus on them and give the best, which in reality also enhances ones own inner self worth to know they always give what they offer..
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I have to say from my huge history of doing massage, that education, and training, as well as applied learned skills is one of the top success avenues out there, not only the basics, in Anatomy,Physiology, Kinesiology, {all bones, joints, muscles, ROM etc}history of massage, practical application of standard modalities, are a good basis to know the general balance of being a masseur. Ongoing education, is great as there is always new ways to learn, and also from other folks learning, and becoming a great therapist, from there the universe is out there to be whatever you want to give and receive in our crazy, go go go lifestyles. Seattle is one of the busiest cities around so providing a safe haven is of good choice, with huge extended and ongoing benefits to get thru life on a daily basis. Why wait, jump in and feel the love and peace and good energy that is always abundant in massage therapy.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
To become a masseur, one absolutely has to look deep within ones self to see, feel, read, hear, experience etc what massage is all about,. just thinking about it is never enough. what kind of individual is wanting to try it? A techno person is more into out of body work, and those who are shy, closed in, don't listen, or its all about what they want from massage, is not in anyway a good choice, as it is very extensive daily energy in everyway to be there for someone else and especially not take on any negative energy, as there is so much out there, as life is tough. Muscle tissue has memory, and from day one of our lives we are impacted greatly by one of the major aspects of our inner core...."Social". most of our lives we have no control over who comes into our lives, and how do we let their issues, and life impact us? It is a big thing to consider, some things can literally drag us down to the point of depression, stress etc. and if it is carried into our personal life then self consideration is important. How to help is a two way street and is amazing. The right approach is open communication, and therapeutic touch. It is wonderful. studio setting, inside decor, Windows, etc
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I don't call it addictive rather passion that builds and builds, with style, experience, education, feed back etc is a balance of a wonderful path to follow in life
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
my first client called me up and gave me details of his interest, and his lifestyle, I listened and asked him if getting massage truly helped him in his world, and how to adjust to any oddities, or miscommunication, and what was his take on communication, and comfort level as well as his daily life. and especially ultimate benefits he always received. this and more made sense to me, as I also realized that by getting out inner feelings that are only buried inside never die. so working thru them does indeed eliminate them and helps big time to heal, and let go of fear, hurt, pain, loss and truly feel self worth. It was so awesome that I knew I was finally on the right path for me to heal myself as well. and it has only gotten better and healthier for me every day.
