Doryann's Massage Interview
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Training is a plus but the most important is practicing and developing empathy. Always be aware of people.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I'm happy with my client feels happy. Depending on their needs, they will feel relaxed or energized. But happy definitely.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
Massage has always been intuitive for me. I remember I've always felt pleasure to massage somebody since I'm young. When I learnt Gay Tantra and tantric massages, I realized that it could be a good job for me. Then I progressively try to professionalize myself. Practicing again and again. I'm full of vital energy and as far as it still flows in me, I want to share it to people who need it.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My massage are holistic. I merge 2 approaches in my massages : I bring the sensuality and eroticism from my knowledge in Tantra and I work on the meridian from my knowledge in Chinese traditional massages to act on muscular tensions, negative emotions, energy balance.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Always be aware of people. Understand their needs (explicit or implicit), feel the body, explain what you are going to do and why, always care the other person is okay. Spread love!
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I practice yoga and qiqong daily. I love cooking vegan meals. As often as I can, I enjoy hiking in the mountains.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first massage ever, as a professional, it was for the shooting of a series of pedagogical videos about Gay Tantra, directed by my teacher Armin C. Heining himself, in Berlin. It was a wonderful experience and I hope these videos helped many people to learn more about Tantra and make them want to experiment these techniques. I knew at this moment that I needed to share that knowledge and practicing with as many people as possible.
