ExpertTouch's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I was very nervous, and at the time only doing out calls. I got ahead of myself and put up my ad before my table even arrived. When I got my first inquiry about setting up an appointment I felt foolish for having things set up without being exactly prepared. But the gentleman was very kind, and understood and said that we could just perform the massage on his bed this time. Get your minds out of the gutter lol. The best thing is,he is still a client of mine to this day.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want them to feel as though they have received a complete experience. From the time they walk into my door I want them to start shedding the stress and baggage they have picked up from the day. I want to provide a place of peace and serenity; where the massage is just one part of their full experience. So when they leave whatever stresses they came with are cleansed and replaced with a sense of relaxation and a smile.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I believe it is my attention to detail, my workspace/studio and most of all the genuine interest that I have in my clients, sometimes our roles aren't just singular. People need connection weather it be from, touch, or conversation, or just being in the presence of another person. Especially coming back into some form or normalcy after the year we had in 2020. Our interactions with people are special and unique and should be valued outside of more than just a dollar sign.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would certainly. The new people you meet everyday, to the regular clients you see every month or even sometimes more frequently. You build relationships and bonds with these people. I think it would be like losing a part of who I am, a caregiver.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I absolutely love to travel. I am a foodie as you can probably tell from my pictures LOL! And most of all my biggest hobby is creating a space around myself where I am comfortable; making my home into a cozy and inviting place for friends family and myself. My studio is in my home, so working in the same space you live it is important that there is a separation and I make the rest of my space a place where I can unwind and decompress.
