FitProTherapist's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Jul 27, 2022
- I have an extensive background and deep understanding of the practice. I consider health and wellness to be my primary passion in life. I love to work out and eat healthy and bodywork, massage therapy and human connection is an integral part of having a healthy happy lifestyle. I see it as a gift and I am honored to share it!
- In my opinion, yes. Knowing your anatomy is extremely important. If you can't name every muscle, it's action, attachment and insertion then you should not call yourself a masseur. We are massaging muscles so if you've ever had a "bad massage" from someone who just rubbed lotion on you, that is because the person doing the service didn't have an understanding of where the muscles are and how to apply pressure to them.
- 14 years in practice, I plan to continue as long as I enjoy the work
- You must be strong in mind, body and spirit. It is rewarding but you have to love people and making people happy
- I was working as a lifeguard and swim instructor when I met a massage therapist who was attending one of my swim lessons. We traded services and I decided to go to massage school too! That was 16 years ago and I have been in business ever since. I started my career in miami at the Setai hotel, a prestigious forbes rated 5 star beach front hotel. I then moved to Los Angeles where I opened the Waldorf Astoria La Prairie spa in Beverly Hills. A couple of years ago I moved to San Diego where I currently love living life.
- I love to cook! I'm a huge foodie and I love to discover new and interesting things that taste amazing! I also love taking care of my dog Koda, he's a German Sheppard, Siberian Husky rescue and my best friend. We love to go hiking, run the stairs at the convention center, and walk down to seaport village for sunset.
