Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Being a masseur is gratifying and that’s what keeps me doing it. I try to give at least one massage per day if I am able. It’s a great workout and I get to use the strength that I build up in the gym. Each massage makes me better and I regularly do continuing education to further expand my knowledge.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I think I am different from other masseurs in that I strike the right balance between sensual and therapeutic in a male-male massage. I focus on soothing and nurturing strokes that ease physical and mental stress. My style takes inspiration from shiatsu, which emphasizes a closeness between practitioner and client, as well as sport massage, which uses techniques to improve performance and recovery.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to read nonfiction. Right now I’m reading The Gateway Arch by Tracy Campbell. It’s the story of the circuitous path the iconic Saint Louis Arch took into being. It has a complicated and in parts troubled history. I like books like this because they untangle the threads of such a story.
I have two pink tetra GloFish named Keller and Koa (named after Real Housewives of Orange County children).
I love listening to podcasts. Beach Too Sandy Water Too Wet is one where a brother and sister read deranged online reviews. Another I like is Wine and Crime, a true crime podcast.
