HIMEROS_MASSAGE's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Apr 28, 2022
- I travel quite often both internationally and nationally. I'm always on the go by car, when in UK and I estimate that I do around 20 international trips every year.
- In my spare time I like to meditate, go to the gym, go swimming, do yoga, cycling, trekking, hiking, traveling (I'm quite the explorer), and love camping for weeks. I enjoy walking friend's dogs, but never for money, only to have company for my long walks. Other than this activities already mentioned I love reading and I also love to go for a massage when I get a day off.
- Clients should know that I have an outstanding personal hygiene, I always take a fresh shower before each appointment, always shaved and well groomed. It is also good to know that I expect the same level of hygiene from my clients, I think it's mutual respect that should be followed.
The massage couch and all utensils are disinfected with hospital grade spray and disposable wipes from the same brand, the process is repeated before and after each client so that everyone sees the materials being disinfected. The oil bottles are also wiped through with disinfectant and the towels which are fresh and clean for each client, are always washed at 90 degrees and tumble dried to make sure they are kept in the best possible way.
- My career footpath! I started as Level 3 Classic Swedish Massage, Level 3 Indian Head Massage, Level 3 reflexology. Up until the end of my level 3 qualifications I only massaged female clients.
1 year later I progressed to Level 4 Holistic Massage to develop more skills. At this point I already had some private male clients and other than when at the school spa I never had female clients again.
One year later I decided to study further and this time I wanted nothing less than the highest qualification available - a Level 5 BTEC in Sports Massage and Sports Treatments. I completed the Level 5 course and acquired a lot of knowledge and skills at therapeutic level but once more, over the years I felt that I was craving to offer more sensualism and eroticism during my massages. This unsettlement made me look further to find something that was truly erotic.
A few years later I decided to enrol for the best Gay Tantric courses, 3 Gay Tantra Massage Courses in Germany, 3 different levels in separate months throughout the same year and here I am today, finally satisfied with what I have to offer. My clients say that the massage was great before but now it's in a completely other level :)
- Absolutely! And if I'm ever in doubt my client's never stop praising my services and how happy and relaxed they feel after each treatment, so it is very hard to forget or to get demotivated :)
- I became a masseur because I saw how happy I could make other people by giving them what was at the time a back rub without knowing any professional strokes or having had a massage myself, so I really didn't know what I was doing, but I was really interested in giving the massage and making them feel good, it was a challenge for me, let's see if I can please through massage and somehow it worked, I kept hearing that I had very good hands, I felt that I could make from Massage my full time occupation. I started looking for courses which took me a while to make my mind up about which was best. I took the firsts course and never looked back ever since, this job only keeps getting better and better as the years pass. Feeling the client's happiness throughout the massage, and how grateful they are when we finish is on it's own half of the reason why being a Masseur is so good. My desire to please was what made me enrol in course after course until I got where I am today, professionally trained and better than I imagined. Becoming a certified Tantric Masseur in April of 2009 really was the cherry on top of the cake. My Tantric courses gave me reason to continue for years to come ;)
- I remember all my first clients as if it was today. For every time that learned a new skill, different styles and techniques I consider that there was a first client for each time I was providing a new different therapy. when I met my very first client I wasn't even a qualified masseur. I received positive comments like you have really good hands, which has made me think of massage therapy professionally and as a career. My second client first in the week that I was qualifying from my first course, was a young female and the following clients from the school were all young females as well. The school's spa had beauty treatments going on and all at half price so it attracted more females. I remember it was quite a difference after only having practiced professional massage in females who are so much smaller and and tender to massage, when I finished the course and started with my private clients I remember finding it hard work. Now, years later I don't remember any of that other than now for the interview. I have only massaged males for years and don't know any different. 1st client after Level4 course was also a female, Sports Massage 1st was a male and Tantric course was male too.
- I like the client to feel ecstatic and to leave with a long lasting sensation of pleasure which can last for a few days after the massage, it happens, clients report... The client's happiness it's my happiness. There is nothing more satisfying than having my first client of the day leaving in a completely happy mood, so different from the tensed look from when they arrive, It really make my day :)
- I like my clients to leave feeling that they had the best massage experience of their entire live. This is when I'm absolutely satisfied that I have done a great job, I served my purpose and i feel accomplished. Anything less than hearing it was the best massage and I think there is room for improvement and will definitely work in a more attentive way next time, I will dive into their minds to understand exactly what pleases them the most and before they notice they are feeling new pleasures. the client has no doubts that he came to the right place.
- Yes, I would miss my days as masseur for sure. No other job (at least within my reach) will give me the same independence, free time to enjoy life more as we all should, career satisfaction and last but not least, the salary is very attractive for a successful therapist who is prepared to go the extra mile...
I cannot imagine myself having an 8 to 12 hours and even up to 16 hour double shift quite often. Being a massage therapist has provided me with a better lifestyle that I didn't know was possible, so I'm very grateful every day for having the skill to be a Masseur and for having Dear valued regular clients who contribute for the up keeping of my business.
- I would advise him to invest in the best massage courses that he can afford, because a therapist who has been professionally is set for success guaranteed and with his happy returning clients he would recover whatever he invested in his education in no time. I speak from my own experience. For each course that I have enrolled I have always practiced the new techniques in my existing paying clients. Before the courses were over I had recovered my investment already, just from practicing before the actual qualification. Do I need to say more? It's a good profession for those who like to stay independent and work in their own times, but is it for everyone? Obviously not! You either have the essence in you of what it takes to good therapist, or you're better of finding another job. I wouldn't recommend this job to someone who is not charismatic or with an outgoing personality. A therapist should to be an inspiring role model to their clients and transmit positive energy.
On another note I would also advise him to learn and always keep high standards of hygiene, to not wear jewellery, scented deodorant or perfume, and to fold and drape his towels properly, and absolutely don't smoke!
- Yes, I think extensive training and career updates every now and again are fundamental to stay afloat in this business. I have a natural desire to learn new skills so it is never a problem for me to go for an update or the next level, I actually get quite excited when I find a new course to study.
- I have been a Certified Massage Therapist for 7 years, and I don't see myself stopping at least for the next 5 years, but I believe I will go until much further because I have created a reliable client base over the last few years, valued clients who make this job be so worthy of my time. I honestly can't picture myself doing any other job that pays the same, not in the near future at least.
