HandsOnDeck's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I honestly can’t remember my first client or the first day I decided to become a masseur. It just sort of happened organically. I always remember my loyal clients that encouraged me with their awesome feedback.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes. I enjoy massaging the male body. Apparently my clients pick up on that, I often hear how amazing my touch is (firm and manly).
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I can get really into the massage when there is chemistry between my client and me. When that happens the massage can go the next level.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Ideally, clients should feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and satisfied after a massage. Ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment, addressing their specific needs, and providing a skillful and therapeutic experience can contribute to a positive outcome. Effective communication to understand their preferences is key.
Why did you become a Masseur?
Because I give a great massage. I wanted to do something on the side that I enjoyed doing, like touch other guys. Providing a service that other men can enjoy as well as myself is a good reason to be a masseur. It feels good and who wouldn’t want to feel good?
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I travel frequently. It is good to see what else is out there and strengthen your ability to assimilate into different situations and ways of life. I like hosting just as much, and having a solid home base where others feel at ease is equally as important.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Yes. It’s great to touch another man and use my innate skills, and trained techniques to make his body, mind, and soul feel connected with pleasure and satisfaction. I get pleasure from pleasing others and it’s a bonus when it’s reciprocated.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Extensive training is important to be successful but it isn’t the only thing that will help you achieve success. You have to have the ability to connect on a level that you understand the body you are working on, while immersing yourself in the massage as if you were feeling every stroke and touch delivered in the massage.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Graphic design has become a creative outlet for me over the last few years. Now I’m integrating my designs into a men’s clothing and apparel line that takes up a lot of my time. Lifting weights, spending time with friends and making new ones along the way.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
My clients always tell me that I have an excellent touch. I hear that my touch is just the right mixture of therapeutic, sensual, strong yet calming at the same time. This is something that my future clients should be prepared for and my existing clients expect.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
They usually tell me I have an amazing touch and often book another appointment right away. I have a lot of repeat business which resonates louder than any other kind of feedback
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
If you're aspiring to be a masseur, consider getting proper training and certification from a reputable massage therapy program. Develop good communication skills, be attentive to client needs, and maintain a professional demeanor. It's crucial to understand different massage techniques and anatomy for effective and safe practice.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I think it’s been 4 years now. Even if my careers change,
I think I’ll always keep doing massage for as long as I’m able. Most of the time, I really enjoy providing a service that relaxes others and enables better health and well-being overall.
