I am a massage therapist and naturopath specializing in complementary medicine. I specialize in a traditional Filipino massage called “Hilot” and offer a range of other treatments including aromatherapy, head massage, luxurious foot massage (foot reflexology) or just a relaxing massage experience.

I also do local massage if you just want arm or shoulder massage, head and neck massage or leg massage to help release the tension caused by the stress and strains of everyday life and to ensure your well-being and healing.

About Hilot Massage as a Healing Therapy

Originating from the Philippines, Hilot is a hands-on healing art that incorporates intuition and massage. A Hilot therapist, called a Manghihilot, is trained in massage and mind-body connections. Although Hilot is a deep tissue massage, the touch is gentle.

The Manghihilot intuitively feels the body with their hand to diagnose areas that are energetically imbalanced. With this information, the Manghihilot focuses on the areas that need to be worked on to create balance and relief. Each session is unique because the focus is on treating problematic areas.

Hilot is not the typical massage someone would seek out as a relaxing form of touch therapy. For this reason, you probably won't find this type of massage on a typical "menu" of massages to choose from at a spa.

The focus is on identifying and correcting problems in the body. A Hilot session can relieve stress and relax tight muscles, but the massage itself can be less relaxing and cause deep tissue discomfort. It's about reaching the source of pain and creating balance.
