IsaacX's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first client was a good friend of mine and he allowed me to practice what I had learned about massage and yoga in our session and provided me with great feedback that has helped me become the professional I am today. I always take client feedback to heart and staying open is what has made me a pro.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would not consider being a Masseur addictive. I would say that the powerful energy exchange between professional and client relationship is what keeps me coming back for more and the intimate relationships created is what keeps me passionate about what I do!
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I 100 % consider myself a successful Masseur. Getting certified in Yoga as well and knowing so much about the body and mind is what has made all of my success. It also helps that I thrive on deep human connection which is also how I have achieved great success.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I am a down to earth, genuinely kind, and compassionate person. I would love my clients to know that I am judgement free and provide a safe space for clients to be themselves without fear of who they are. This quality has made my life rich and I love giving out those positive healing energy vibes to all.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want my clients to feel completely satisfied, in awe, and wanting more of my work. I want my clients to have such an intense and beautiful experience that they have the feeling of wanting more. I also want my clients to feel good physically, mentally, and energetically after I leave! This is of upmost importance to me.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
My hobbies include yoga, hiking, swimming, world travel with a passion of visiting India and South East Asia, and I love just spending time with family and friends!
Why did you become a Masseur?
I became a Massuer to take my experience as a body worker to the next level and also to be able to express a more sensual side of myself that I was unable to give to my traditional yoga clients. Being a massage therapist has helped me explore and give all of myself!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
For anyone who wants to be a Masseur I would say to check-in with yourself and find out what attracts them to be a massage therapist and see what skill sets or experiences that they have that they want to bring to massage. Massage is a deep exchange of energy and each therapist should be prepared to take care of themselves in terms of the energy they bring and how they will deal with the energy that they absorb.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
What distinguishes me from other Masseurs is my background in yoga. I have special knowledge of mind + body + spirit connection and I am able to incorporate yogic elements and breathing into my practice that is different from what you will get from a standard massage therapist.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been practicing Massage for 5 years alongside yoga and have no plans of stopping massage therapy anytime soon.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
My passion is world travel. I try to travel as much and as often as possible. While I am practicing and focusing my business in my current living area I travel to nearby locations but when possible I enjoy traveling to other countries as well as other places in the United States.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Extensive training is helpful to be a successful Masseur but not neccesary to be successful as some people have the gift of natural innate talent.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
When clients leave my sessions I like them to feel relaxed, rejuvenated, reflective, happy, and the want for more.
