IsmaelDeportivo's Massage Interview
Why did you become a Masseur?
My father and uncle used to work at a gym giving massages, and they brought me in one day to help. I saw the relief they were able to give to gym members. Today I am a masseur because I like to be able to help someone when they have neck pain, back pain, etc. Or you are in low spirits that a massage can help you feel better and that I can be the one to help you gives me a lot of satisfaction.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Let him do it!! Being a masseur is a very cool job and being able to help someone feel better is very satisfying. Do it!, that's my advice. But, make sure you are trained. Like any job, it is your responsibility to make sure you are skilled, so that you can provide a good service to your client.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Probably the number of repeat customers that I have. About 90% of my clients see me on a recurring basis, including people from the US, who come to Mexico City on business or vacations. Another difference, is that I have been doing this for more than 10 years, and have the experience from working in a gym.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
Proudly I have been a masseur for 10 years, I started in this in the middle of 2011 and I hope to continue giving massages for another 10 years.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Pain-free, happy, and looking forward to their next appointment, booked already before they left.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I consider myself a person who is grateful for life, I value every moment a lot. I really like nature, I am clean, honest and respectful, open to learn and enjoy every day.
