JESSUPDERRINGER's Massage Interview
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Training is great! You can never have enough knowledge no matter what the pursuit may be. I think with any creative/intuitive endeavor there can be a bit of “nature” and “nurture” involved. It is easy to teach a technique to anyone but innate talent and passion, less so.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I think that in the disconnected world we all live in (especially since covid and all the added anxiety that brought with it) that the ability to connect with and bring joy, relaxation, and relief to a fellow human being is a rare and beautiful experience. It can certainly be addictive to help facilitate that kind of shared moment between two people. I would absolutely miss that feeling.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I am by general definition a homebody - but I do love to travel! Whether it’s an international flight or a weekend road trip. There are so many places I have yet to visit and the decision to become a masseur was at least partially rooted in the desire to travel more.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I love nature! Camping, hiking, Fall road trips to see the color changes, any of it. My goal is to create a life where I am able to be mobile and see as much of the country as I can.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I have been told that I have a laidback older brother vibe. I’m funny, easy to talk to and very chill and trustworthy. You will feel like we have been friends for years the minute you walk through my door.
