Jackcakes's Massage Interview
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
My hobbies typically consist of me upgrading my vehicle and assembling it myself (unless needing addtional tunings).
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Its a real job and if you treat it that way it can be very rewarding. Also, its all on you because your the boss which can be great if youre already a driven person.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want them to feel satisfied and relaxed when leaving. I want a client to want to come back not only for the work but feel comfortable when around me from then on. I never want a client to feel like theyve wasted theyre money or time.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would because ive met some very nice, respectful and interesting people. Ive had conversations with them that have me look at things differently. So i enjoy hearing other lifestyles and cultures which im not sure id ever met these people without being Masseur.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Well I try to make sure your first of comfortable and relxed and I want you to leave feeling better for whatever u need to do. People get a massage for differnt reasons so I make sure to fulfill those need.
So they can do what they do better and clear headed.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
To be respectful with me because it will be given in return. I also would like for them to know what they really want to do before they come so ill be prepared to make theyre experience the best i can.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I like to travel and have a blast when i do. I think experiencing things good and bad is what makes the individual. So as much as i enjoy what i do in my daily life at home. I feel its needed to get out of my element and see things in person. Its completely different eating Chicago Deep Crust Pizza in Chicago than going to your local pizza spot and just getting the Chicago style. You cant replicate physical presence in a moment in time without actually being there.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Yes it was already normal for me before I ever had my first client. Ive been told for a long time I should try being a Massuer so ive been trying to be ever since.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Well successful enough so that I can pay my bills\living but im not curretly successful in my mind yet.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I honestly feel with my pressure with my fingers that have become what thay are working commercial construction/technician for 10yrs it was enough live off. But, I didnt see me becoming successful being in it without being able to maintain without it. I believe I can eventually get to a point in this that I'll be able to get my Business started and do it without much upfront cost. At the same time actually enjoy life because I honestly can say working on average 70+ hrs a week was so much on my body i couldnt enjoy the time I had off. Lol as soon Id get a good buz i fall/fighting going to sleep. It was to much for I feel wasnt enough. Unless your paying yourself as a Private Contractor which I feel as with the skillset I could become one. But, he tools and cost of it I didnt have. I also know Id like to expand when I was ready to. So this is something for the Hourly Rate is something I feel is doable. So thats why I become Masseur because I want to be successful in life and I think it requires you to have more than one hustle. Also it suit me in what im capable of doing. Plus I enjoy it as well which is a plus.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I think for the ones who like conversations I've been very successful in that aspect of life. I feel a decent at multitasking I'm able to do both from what ive been noticing with great results. I also have a great personality with decent facial structure. Backed up a body and very naturally toned features that most people cant say they have. But, I lived a very physically demanding life thus far so it had great benefits in that i did it plus Id workout after work. Its something thats very now showing without lifting weights anymore. So if all of that makes me different I dont know maybe but Im sure theres another person who has better features. But, you be the judge in that.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
Ive been a Massuer for 2 yrs and I feel theres a cutoff age for it but not sure exactly when that is but thinking around 45yrs old or like 15 yrs.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Id say it is for getting a boost of clients maybe initially but it all depends if you are good at managing yourself.
