JacksonHowell's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I decided to fully be a masseur after two really incredible clients; they were both older men with some unique life experiences, one while I obviously can't share any details I felt like I actually helped them and ended up being a big part of their lives, and that's just incredibly validating for me.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I just want to know that I made a genuinely positive impact on your life, whether that looks like relaxing you, being a friend that you can just talk to and feel valued by, or just giving you a little win in your life. So long as you leave feeling genuinely better about life then I'm happy.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Game nights, reading, and cross stitching take up the bulk of my hobby time! I do have a degree in music performance but I'm not quite professional anymore... I don't go out to the bars all that much and prefer to just have a nice night with a close friend watching an anime and eating comfort food :)
Why did you become a Masseur?
I was working as a chemist in a cannabinoid lab but work wouldn't allow me time off to go take care of my brother when he was ill, so I decided to take up massage so that I can bend my schedule to be there for my people and still make money efficiently. My massage clients have all been really good guys and I've gotten a lot of validating experiences from them, it makes me feel good knowing that I've made a positive impact for clients, and I take solace in knowing that I have more space to be a better friend now too.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel! I love meeting new people and seeing what kind of impact they'll have in my life and vice versa. I think every person has some kind of lesson to take from them when you meet them, so I try to take every opportunity to meet new people and experience life.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I doubt any other masseurs were stupid enough to get a full on degree in chemical engineering that they didn't end up using. Distinguishably smart, but also a loveable wholesome idiot.
