JakeMiller's Massage Interview
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I do consider myself a successful masseur. I've built up a well established clientele and lots of new friendships were made in the process. You know you're doing a great job when people keep coming back to you over and over the course of many years.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Reading, working out, swimming, spas, running, cooking, travelling, yoga, meditation.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I became a masseur because I like to help people, deep down inside I'm a healer so I love to share that gift with the world. Also getting to hear peoples stories from all walks of life is very entertaining. I enjoy every aspect of it. As a masseur you work on the body but you're also there to listen to your clients needs and wants. Giving them some advice on how they can improve their daily lives with some stretches and simple tips that may make a difference down the road.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I believe some basic training is important. Having knowledge of the body and anatomy helps a lot. One thing you can't train in this industry is passion, either you have it or you don't and your clients will know that as soon as you touch them. Every year I like to immerse myself into a massage workshop where I hone my skills and learn new techniques that I can bring into my practice.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I absolutely 💯 % would miss my masseur days when that journey comes to an end. The connections you make and all the wonderful souls you meet is breathtaking.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I would want them to feel brand new. Reborn, rejuvenated, refreshed, recharged. I want them to let go of what ever that was bothering them in the past during the session. That way they walk away with a clear mind, an open heart ❤ and their body feeling loosened up.
