JeremySpreadums's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Yes! I remember the look of pleasure on his face as he relaxed the more I rubbed his body down. I loved the feeling of bringing pleasure and excitement to someone.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
This answer depends, since I have been basically giving massages since I was 15. I would say yes, I consider myself successful since massage requires knowledge of muscle groups, and knowledge of pressure points to relax someone and ease their tensions. I've practiced massaging for more than 15 years now.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I have a wild side, but also a nerdy side. I love going to museums, learning about different cultures and history, and watching documentaries about nature, detective cases, and the supernatural.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Much more relaxed and destressed, fulfilled with pleasure, and with a big smile on their face.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Hiking, weightlifting, research (currently working on a master's degree), spending time with my Corgi Riley, and visiting new places.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Make sure that you are confident in your work. Channel your positive and healing energies from your heart to your hands to your clients, trust, this makes a huge difference for both your own and the client's experience.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I like to travel every 2-3 months. I enjoy routine, so the remainder of the time, I am a homebody but balance is key.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Yes, absolutely. There may be a day when I look back and enjoy all the sensual memories.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I like connecting with people on a personal level. Masseur work combines touch and 1:1 connections that cannot be replicated. Masseur work is an art, and I would like to share this with the world.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I don't tend to compare myself with others since it is unhealthy to one's mental health and confidence. If I had to answer this question, I would say that my warm personality, energy, and charm are unique and distinguish me from other masseurs ;-)
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've provided massages for years on various occasions. Professionally, I have only done this for a year, hoping for more.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Basic to intermediate knowledge of massage therapy and major muscle groups is recommended. Extensive training is not truly necessary to be successful as a masseur because each masseur has their own style, energy, skills, strengths, and focus - you add your own twist ;-)
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Like they can't wait to come back!
