JnJDarkPassions's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I don't recall who the individual was however I do recall how I felt emotionally, physically and spiritually. My partner and I both worked in the mental health field for years and decided to quit and start our own holistic business. When I decided to do this type of work, we were making our own bath and body products then Jeff, my partner, asked if I wanted to do spiritual body rubs. Him doing something like that when he was younger living in San Diego, he thought I would be good at it! So I gave it a try! Being a graduate of psychology, I spent a few years studying human anatomy and biology, memorizing the contours of the body in detail. And me being a highly sensitive and sensual person, incorporating my knowledge, personal touch and a mixture of tantric/Swedish style techniques, I developed my very unique and particular style. Jeff assists me with the 4 handed tantric sessions in which he incorporates his unique sensual touch and his personal style to enhance the whole experience!
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Absolutely! I love the fact that I enhance peoples lives! Assisting with centering and reenergizing their bodies gives a wonderful feeling. I love talking and getting to know new people and carrying on with conversations and getting to know individuals on a more personal level throughout the ongoing sessions. I always have said that the most interesting part of my job is finding each persons likes and dislikes, what stimulate their bodies, what each person enjoys particularly! For example, those who like their feet, hands or head being rubbed on, others may not. Each person is different and I enjoy finding out what makes each different!
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I like to totally think so just for the simple fact that when one first comes and continues to sees me or us, the response I get is absolutely amazing! The one thing that I think is different with me is that I just don't consider this a job, its a lifestyle with awesome energizing qualities and excellent benefits to ones emotional, physical and spiritual health. I only tend to do 2 to 3 per day and if my energies and emotions are not in-lined, I will not do sessions. I believe in the movement and transferring energies and I would hate to think that if I'm having a bad day that those negative energies are transferred to someone else.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I've heard some horror stories from individuals that came to utilize my services over the past few years regarding them going to other masseurs and the one thing that I want everyone to know, comfortability is my main objective. I strive to obtain the goal that when one enters my home that the sights, sounds and smells are sensual and comforting. I'm an artist that loves to paint so as one enters, they see a lot of my paintings and how I decorate is always from my heart which tends to transfer into atmosphere which is a more positive and energetic influenced environment.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Relaxed, reenergized, stimulated and comfortable! I want them feeling as comfortable as possible when entering for the first time and throughout the session and leaving knowing who I and my partner are, a little bit about our backgrounds, etc. I love talking so as one first enters as a stranger, I want them leaving feeling like they made some new friends!
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love cooking and eventually in the near future I want to expand and incorporate erotic catering and or personal "naked" chef for private or events! I love painting! As one enters our home for the first time, they have the opportunity to look over some of the pieces I am currently doing. I love walking around and meeting new people! One great thing about living in New Orleans is that one doesn't need a car to get around. We walk everywhere around this city! I like working out although a lot of my energy goes into the sessions! I love decorating to express another artistic side of myself which is another positive influence on individuals who enter our home!
Why did you become a Masseur?
It fits my personality! I like to see myself as a compassionate individual that has a particular gift to tap into ones inner nature of sensuality energizing the senses of the body and spirituality through touch, along with influencing a more sensual side of sight and smells with erotic art on the walls and essential oils.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Be open to new experiences, never judge ANYONE and never give into temptations!!! Keep your ground and establish rules which are verbally expressed as conversations are started and carried on! Make sure you make individuals always feel special and comfortable with where they are and who you are. Remember that these are strangers walking into a strangers home for the first time so be as friendly as possible. Let them take a little time to get to know their new surroundings. Have some water to offer them as well just in case along with access to a restroom, maybe a shower and perhaps a piece of gum! Remember to make them feel as comfortable as possible.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My energies. I do this not as a job but as a lifestyle.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been doing this for over 2 years now and probably continuing on as long as my body allows me to do so!!!
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
We are a little bit of both! We love traveling and looking at new places but we also spend a lot of time at home making products and painting!
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I think that a continuing of educating yourself on the subjects that surrounds this particular field. It's been around for thousands of years and there is a lot of knowledge to gain!
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
That it's a new experience for them... I've found to have created a very unique experience for individuals and part of my job is to find out what stimulates each person during that experience... Everyone is different and that is one part of my job I love! I want them to feel completely relaxed and know that they are always welcomed back! I totally want them to understand that confidentiality is at my upmost importance.
