JockMassage's Massage Interview
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I do travel to clients depending on their locations within DC metropolitan area. I encourage the client to visit my studio at anytime. I do travel to ATL once a year but due to COVID, haven’t travel yet. Although I’m fully vaccinated.
Plus, DMV really keeps me super busy so :)
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
My advices are:
1) to understand and pay attentions to the clients’ need by applying the right pressure and ensure the session so relaxing.
2) to respect and to understand that the clients are different in many aspects; races, body size... etc. No judgment and must be respectful.
3) to always warm welcoming a client whether first timer or regular.
4) To learn more about the massage techniques by taking classes annually.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
It was doing my internship as massage therapist at my school. The head coach of the College Football team asked me to massage him. He encouraged me to pursue this as career. That was 10 years ago in my college year :) He was my very first sensual client and still seeing him monthly
Why did you become a Masseur?
I am a big believer of “Magic Touch can heal a soul and body.” Love massaging different types of body and making people very happy and satisfied. Nothing like received a text or an email saying “Kaleb you have the magic hands,” or “look forward to seeing you again.”
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Keys to my success are:
1) I’m very passionate in what I do. Although the compensation is lovely, to deliver the best relaxing experience to a client is very rewarding.
2) learning something new.
3) mutual respect to the client even in the situation where it became uncomfortable. You have to act professionally to address a concern to a client.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
You have no idea nothing brights up my days better than receiving a text or an email saying Kaleb thank you very much :) these messages are big motivation and inspiration to be the greatest for my clients :)
They were times where I was like I’m ready to retire but here comes lovely clients :)
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Yes it is required. Learning new technique is always a plus to satisfy the clients and Also to update your certificate.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I’m open via email text or a review :)
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Every masseur is unique in his own technique. I am
Just average joe massage therapist who is in love with massaging and the ability to relax my clients.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Honestly there were some times where I was like okay this would be my last week then you get these texts from your regular clients about setting up a session then you push it to next month then to next year lol
During my August Trip to GA, I decided to retire but then my DC clients were so upset and they wanted a session upon my arrival to DMV area. So I can’t leave DMV and I can’t retire per my regular clients :) Kaleb is wanted and needed :)
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Due to my super busy schedule, I don’t have much time to have a hobbies at the moment but gym is my only Hobby. I’m not a drinker or a smoker so gym is my daily stress relief.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
It’s been 10 years and more years to come. Per my DC regular clients, I’m not allowed to retire or to have trips outside DMV area. It makes me very happy to hear one of them called me, “Must to see DC landmark.” So I’m not sure if I’m going to retire soon :)
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I’m an easy going person and most of my clients see that I’m very Genuine and very detailed to their needs. I love massaging and my goal to deliver the best experience to my clients.
